There are many things to considerwhen getting married and so it isimportant that firstly, you discuss asa couple, how you would like yourwedding day to be. What type ofceremony would you like? Do youwant to get married in a church orhave a civil ceremony?

What things are important to you – specific date, location, food, colourscheme, entertainment, numbers ofguests etc. You then need to prioritisethese things and plan your budget sothat you get the most from your special day!

Just as importantly and unlike manyof the larger hotels, they will also bethere on the day so that you canrelax and savour every moment,whilst we take care of all the details.

We are a privately owned hotel and pride ourselves on individuality. Wehave over 21 years of experience inbringing to life the thoughts, wishesand dreams of each of our couples,helping them to create their specialday.

Eat, drink and be married!

Once you have decided on when andwhere you would like to get marriedthe first things you must book beforeanything else are the church orregistrar and the venue.

We hold a civil wedding license forour Restaurant, Conservatory andRosewood Suite. Civil ceremonies arebecoming more and more popular asthey give you more flexibility to tailorthe ceremony to you. Choosing justthe one venue removes the problemand costs of transporting you andyour guests from the church to thereception.

The proceedings that relate to a civilwedding ceremony must be organisedthrough Skipton Registry Office.

This must be arranged directly byyou as the hotel cannot be involvedin the actual ceremony details or takeresponsibility for any of thesearrangements.

We can however, help you choose asuitable room in relation to yournumbers and advise you on differentroom layouts, along with ideas fordecorating the room.

Room hire charges are applicable andthe type of room most appropriate willdepend on your number of guests.The Restaurant - up to 40 guestsThe Rosewood Suite - 60 – 100 guestsIt is important that your guests areaccommodated in an appropriatelysized room therefore the hiring of eachof the rooms is subject to numbers.

Whilst organising a wedding can be veryexciting, it can also be very dauntingand sometimes you do not knowwhere to start.

At this initial meeting we will show you around the hotel and offeradvice and ideas of how you mightwish to plan your day. You may atthis time wish to discuss availabledates. We also have a portfolio ofprevious weddings to help give yousome ideas.

This is an exploratory meeting and does not commit you to anything.

A provisional booking can be madeat this stage however, this may onlybe held for 14 days.

On confirmation of your date anon- refundable deposit of £400.00is required to secure your chosendate.

Things to think about for this meeting include:Where you would like to receive yourguests?When would you like to cut the cake?In which order will the speeches be made?Cake stand and table, present table?Music and entertainment arrangements along with timings?When will the cake, favours and placecards be delivered?Guest accommodation requirements?

However, here are a few pointersthat may help about traditional roles.
