The Legion would appreciate a bit of financial help with the purchase of new flags for the Memorial day and Veterans day services and flag raisings at the cemetery. The original flags are getting pretty tattered, and are having to be destroyed. They are trying to get better quality ones that will last longer, but they are kind of costly. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Next Senior Movie in February will be Monday, Feb. 24. Everyone is welcome to join us. Come and have lunch at the Sr. Center first, and ride the bus up, or just join us at the Rec After School Building at 12:45 for Popcorn and a Movie. The movie is free and is a collaboration between Meeteetse Rec, Meeteetse Sr. and Meeteetse Li-brary. Saturday, Feb. 29 is Movie Matinee Day at the Library! Come at 11:30 for the movie “Frozen”. Kids under 8 must have an adult or responsible party with them. We’ve picked up the books from the Book Sale – But they’re still for sale!! Come and get some! There are some great hard cover adult fiction and non-fiction, a lot of great children’s books, and many CDBooks. They are generally older, a bit worn, or are duplicates – but they’ve got some good reading left in them! Wednesdays after school are Wii Wednesdays. All kids 8 and up can drop in to play the Wii until 4:45. Thursdays after school are a No Tech Day. Kids 8 and up are invited to come in for a variety of board games. Adults of course are welcome to come and play as well! + If you’re starting to think about taxes we’ve got some forms and booklets available. Come and pick one up – if we haven’t got what you need we’ll help you find one to print.

Public Safety Announcements
Purpose: To inform the residents of Meeteetse of current trends and information to assist in keeping you and your neighbors safe. Safety: Winter is upon us and the snow has finally hit the community and with that the snow packed slick roads can be a problem. Along with the usual safety items recommended for emergency situations a bag of cheap cat litter is a good idea to carry in your vehicle as well. Should you find yourself stuck in a slick situation spread the loose cat litter on the ground in front of and as close to under the tires as possible, the cat litter will help provide enough traction to get you moving. A bag of cheap cat litter will cost you around $6.00 at some of the stores which is cheaper than a po-tential tow bill. Just a reminder for everyone regarding snow removal, in order to facilitate the removal please do what you can to assist the town by moving your vehicles off the street. Doing so helps Ed and Shawn with the removal process. Did you know? Vehicle Registration In the Town of Meeteetse any vehicle with expired registration or expired temporary registration cannot be parked on the town streets (see town ordinances on the Town of Meeteetse web site, Chapter 8 Motor Vehicles and Traffic) Unless a person is a college student or a daily commuter you must obtain Wyoming vehicle registration. For full de-tails see resident definitions in Wyoming State Statute (WSS) 31-1-101(a) (xxi) Parking In accordance with Wyoming State Statute all vehicles parked on the street or road way must be parked with the right hand wheels parallel to and within 18 inches of the curb or as close as practicable to the right edge of the right hand shoulder. WSS 31-5-512 (a) Stop Signs and Stopping Requirements All vehicles must stop, in an urban area, prior to entering a street or road way from any alley or parking lot. That means you must come to a complete stop prior to entering the roadway when leaving the Wea Market, Cowboy/Elk Horn and the parking area across the street from those establishments. WSS 31-5-506

There are a lot of awesome companies out there & WAMCAT has found three that are putting together an unbelievable package for one lucky winner!
Lander's ACE Hardware has donated a Yetti cooler that will be filled with donated goodies from Jackson Hole Buffalo Meat Co and Casper's Rocky Mountain Discount Sports. The WAMCAT Board is selling raffle tickets for this awesome prize at the cost of $5/ticket. The drawing will be held during our spring institute; you do not need to be present to win (but hey - have you signed up yet? updates are coming later this week!)
The WAMCAT Board will be selling the raffle tickets on Thursday of the WAM conference in Cheyenne. Tickets can also be purchased on-line by the following link: https://chance2win.org/charities/wamcat-scholarship-raffle/ You can also contact a WAMCAT Board Member after the WAM conference to purchase tickets (if any are left over!)
Proceeds from the raffle will be applied towards the WAMCAT Scholarship Fund. This fund assists clerks, treasurers and support staff across Wyoming with the costs of attending our insti-tutes and other training. Speaking of, the deadline to apply for a scholarship for the spring insti-tute has been extended until February 15th. https://www.wamcat.org/index.asp?SEC=6356F8A9-73CF-4347-9EFC-85BE80223526&Type=B_BASIC to download the appli-cation - we want you to take advantage of this fund!
Good luck with the raffle!
