Getting StartedGetting Started
Before the first tax mailings start to go out at the beginning of the year, we recommend making a list of your accounts. As documents are received, check them off and keep them in a file. If you need a list of your Money Concepts accounts, contact us.
Documents to Expect
Brokerage [Lifestyle]: If you have a taxable brokerage account with Pershing, you will receive a lid d 1099 “Y E d T S ” hi h ill di id d i i lconsolidated 1099, or “Year‐End Tax Statement,” which will report dividends, interest, capital
gains, and trading activity. Cost basis, if available, can be found in the “Realized Gains and Losses” section.
IRAs [Traditional, Beneficiary, SIMPLE, SEP, Roth]: 1099s are generated for IRAs when a transfer or withdrawal occurred – regardless of whether the event was considered taxable. This includes, but is not limited to rollovers, conversions, and distributions.
REITs [non‐IRA]: 1099s are generated for interest and/or withdrawals.
Variable Annuities: 1099s are generated for withdrawals.Variable Annuities: 1099s are generated for withdrawals.
529s: 1099s are generated for withdrawals, regardless of whether they were used to pay qualified expenses. We recommend keeping receipts for all such expenses.

Contributions to your IRA appear on form 5498, issued in May after the tax deadline has passed. To track of your contributions, highlight them in your checkbook register as you make them throughout the year, then refer to “Retirement Account Transactions” on your most recent Pershing statement to cross‐check them. If you enrolled in paperless delivery with Pershing, your tax documents can be found online. The documents are usually available for download by mid‐February, although some may appear
