Services (HHS) todayannounced the launch ofBeTobaccoFree.gov, acomprehensive websiteproviding one-stop accessto the best and most up-to-date tobacco-relatedinformation from acrossits agencies.
This consolidatedresource includes generalinformation on tobacco,federal and state laws andpolicies, health statistics,and evidence-basedmethods on how to quit.
“Tobacco usecontinues to be theleading cause ofpremature andpreventable death in theUnited States,” said HHSSecretary KathleenSebelius.“BeTobaccoFree.govbuilds upon the Obamaadministration’scommitment to helptobacco users quit andprevent children fromstarting to use tobaccoproducts.”

uses responsive design,making informationaccessible anywhere,anytime on any platform,from smart phone totablet to desktop. TheWeb site’s unique socialmedia dashboard, “Say it– Share it,” constantlyprovides real timeupdates from HHStobacco-related socialmedia accounts,including Facebook,Twitter, YouTube,Infographics, Podcastsand Tumblr.

‘Counterinsurgency’ program planned
The W.O. Farber Centerfor Civic Leadership at theUniversity of South Dakotawill present the program,“Counterinsurgency inAfghanistan: A RifleCompany in Imam Sahib,” byCapt. Christopher L.Mercado, a 2004distinguished militarygraduate of USD, at 4 p.m.on Wednesday, Nov. 28 atFarber Hall inside Old Main.
Mercado has served threeyears in combat, recentlyreturning from northAfghanistan where he servedas a rifle companycommander. He ledcounterinsurgencyoperations in Imam Sahiband Dast-e Archi Districts ofKunduz Province.
