Cloud-Edge is a High Performance Engine with end-to-end data processing and analytics capability. Our software facilitates a complete transformation of data into a compressed yet useable format, ready for advanced analytics and other functions.

It has flexible deployment into a Cloud environment or directly onto the client server and is installed just like any other software application. The ability to ingest data agnostic to format (structured, semi-structured or unstructured), source or industry, is one of Cloud-Edge’s unique and differentiating USPs.

The Cloud-Edge technology facilitates machine learning / AI.

There is no requirement for the client to have a dedicated server to run the Cloud-Edge software and the entire system can be run off commodity, intel, mid-range, server hardware.

The Cloud-Edge software solution is a single platform comprising four modules.

For a client to achieve an AI based end-to-end data processing and data analytics platform, similar to what Cloud-Edge software can deliver, they would typically need to engage four separate software solutions.

These may include:

1. Business Intelligence Software: such as is supplied by SAP, Tableau or Thompson Reuters.

2. Advanced Analytics Software: such as is supplied by SAS, Oracle or SPSS.

3. Active Storage Software: such as is supplied by Vertica, IBM, Oracle, Teledata or SQL Server.

Cloud-Edge Data Processing Engine (DPE)

Central to Cloud-Edge is the raw processing power of the Cloud-Edge Data Processing Engine (DPE).

This proprietary data engine, uses ‘low level’ heuristic algorithms, to drive Cloud-Edge’s end-to end data processing and data analytics solution in the most efficient and effective manner whilst using machine learning.

The heuristic algorithms control compression, sorting, scanning and indexing functionality. This is all part of the ETL process (without the need for any further programming requirements).

The compression algorithm has the ability to compress and decompress data in the ranges between 4:1 and 20:1. This improves overall machine workload output and results in significant storage savings.

The data can still be manipulated and analyzed in its compressed form, which is another of Cloud-Edge’s USPs.

All the data is assessed in its compressed state and is subjected to Cloud-Edges’ scanning, sorting and indexing algorithms to facilitate the significant performance advantages of Cloud-Edge Software.

In essence, Cloud-Edge DPE empowers clients to assess and manipulate their data at a cost point previously considered impossible.

Cloud-Edge DPE Benchmarks

• Benchmark conducted at HP Solution Center, the Cloud-Edge Sort DPE loaded 2.1 Tb of raw data from disk in 35 minutes and 39 seconds. An average load of 1.067 GB per second.

• Cloud-Edge Sort performed an all columns scan from disk, of 1 billion rows (100 bytes wide), doing complex calculations on every single row (all the columns), in 29 seconds. That is roughly 33 ½ million rows per second.

Cloud-Edge AI Software comes with a full suite of easy to use client and development tool sets, a comprehensive User Guide and training videos.

The client and development tool sets have a “Point and Click” functionality, similar to a Microsoft Windows application and no programming experience is required to operate the software.

Within the Development Studio, there is a set of Cloud-Edge “Seeds” for advanced analytic queries.

These “Seeds” do not require any further programming code or long textual commands and were originally developed for each Use Case (as detailed in our Comprehensive White Paper).

Cloud-Edge has a team of Data Scientists to scope requirements of the client’s desired outcomes in order to deliver a customized “big data” problem solving solution.

Output from Cloud-Edge is in a tabular format and numerous query tables can be viewed in separate ”browsable” panels to facilitate comparisons and summarize outcomes and conclusions. Should there be a requirement for any further graphical or detailed dashboard representation, this would necessitate an interface with specific external software platforms that cater to this need.

Cloud-Edge’s Data Scientists are also available to consult on any additional analytic queries, or training and to provide other assistance to users.

Cloud-Edge is a unique resource that, with the assistance of a Cloud-Edge or in-housedata scientist, will produce a superior solution to any given business requirement.

The development process commences rapidly due to the ease and speed of loading massive volumes of data, regardless of whether it is structured, semi-structured or unstructured.

Cloud-Edge is a client-server architecture. The full functionality of the development process is ready “out-of-the-box” i.e. immediately after importing the data.

Cloud-Edge utilizes a Graphical User Interface (GUI) development to rapidly implement from the simplest to the most complex analytics, as compared with the timeline of other procedural languages.

Interim reports can be generated from commencement and thereafter throughout the agile development process, giving a high level of value to the user. Based on the outcome of those reports, the user can refine the requests and update them dynamically.
