Compulsory credits from the following subject groupings must be taken and passed for graduation. There is a total requirement of 18 credits, but the department of education recommends that students take 21 credits for a well-rounded high school program

Advanced - designed to meet the needs of students who have demonstrated an exceptional degree of academic ability or achievement, only for courses offered in grades 11 and 12

Each year your teacher will provide a recommendation for the courses you should take in the next year

Should you choose to go against this recommendation, you must provide written notice signed by a parent/guardian

Science 10 academic level credit an integrated science course that includes

biology, chemistry, physics and a unit on weather

Biology 11 academic level credit offered only to a select number of grade

ten students not a prerequisite for Biology 12

Technology Construction Technology 10

open level credit introduces students to building

construction, using tools, creating and reading plans, etc.

Exploring Technology 10 open level credit a computer-based course students are introduced to software

such as Pinnacle, Animator and Photo Shop (6 weeks each)

Social Studies Geography 10

level, physical geography and the effects of humans on our environment
