St. Patrick’s School News St. Patrick’s School News for January 4-10 January 4 Classes resume January 4 January 6 1:15 p.m. School Mass 2:15 p.m. Early Dismissal Looking ahead, St. Patrick’s will be having a Family Fun Night on Satur-day, January 30, in Ashton following the Catholic Schools Week Mass at St. Mary’s. There will be Food, Fun, and Games along with drawings for the cash and student raffle tickets that the students will start selling this weekend. If you would like to buy raffle tickets please contact one of the St. Patrick’s students or the school.

We just finalized a website to order St. Patrick’s school merchandise. The website is www.companycasuals.com/stpatrickscatholicschool.

ST. PAT’S SCRIP: Get your cards from St. Pat's Scrip program. We have a lot of national retailers on hand but can order those that we don't have. Discover Universal gift cards are available in $25, $100 and $250. Amazon.com is also available in $100 cards (need to be ordered) but we carry the $25 Amazon.com.

This season brings exciting opportunities for the Sioux County Oratorio Chorus, and you are invited to be a part of it! Our season will include performances of Schubert’s Mass in G and Handel’s Zadok the Priest at Northwestern College’s Christ Chapel, as well as a tremendous oppor-tunity to join the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra for a performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. Rehearsals are at Northwestern beginning January 12 at 7:30p.m. with performances April 16 and 30. Spend your Tuesday evenings with us, bringing the best of the oratorio tradition to life! Our Parish wishes to extend our sympathy and prayers to the family of Harold and Coleen Ah-lers. Coleen’s brother passed away in Reno, Nevada this month. Har-old’s brother passed away in Lau-rens Iowa this past week.

Please do not park in the alley south of the church at any time. This is a fire lane!

The Sheldon Knights of Columbus will be holding the annual Stag Night on January 4th at 6:30 p.m. in the church basement. This is open to any male over 18 years that is interested in joining the Knights of Columbus.

On Sunday, January 10th following the 8:30 a.m. Mass, the Knights of Columbus will be having a breakfast to benefit the University of Iowa Chil-dren’s Hospital for Pediatric Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant patients and families.

Save the Dates: The Knights of Columbus Spelling Bee will be on January 16th at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick School.

The Knights of Columbus Free-throw Tournament will be held on January 17th at 12 noon at the Village Northwest Gym. Competition starts at 1 p.m.

The Knights of Columbus will be holding a 1st Degree Ceremony on January 24th at 10 a.m. This is for any male over 18 that is interest-ed in joining the Knights of Columbus.

Calendars are in the entrance at St. Patrick. Please pick one up.

Thank You: The Missionary Asso-ciation wishes to thank every-one who purchased quilts dur-ing 2015. Your support allows us to provide funds for various church projects. We wish everyone a very Blessed Christmas.

I would like to thank all who supported and worked at the Ladies Guild Lasagna supper. A special thanks to Laureen McCarty, Laura Wagner, and Lori Gross

The Catholic Daughters Court #1057 will be holding their monthly meeting on Monday, January 4 beginning with a Soup and Pie Supper at 6:00 pm. The committee in charge will be Karen Johnson, chm., Mary Frick, Mar-yann Henning, Muriel Schaa, Karen DeVries and Win-ifred Krogman. The program will include a Trade Show----so bring along a book or magazine that you have en-joyed and trade it with another member. We will also be setting some goals for the coming year. St. Mary’s Prayer Group continues to meet every Friday morning at 9:00. Everyone is welcome to celebrate Christ, pray for peace, and participate in the rosary. Coffee and snacks are provided at no charge. We will once again continue on January 8. If you cannot attend, please continue to pray for peace.

The outdoor nativity set is appreciated by many parishioners. Thanks to Doyle Trei, volunteers, and the liturgy committee for setting it up again this year. One addition was made this past year by including a shepherd donated by Norma Seivert and her family. If anyone is interested in adding more piec-es to the set, please contact Karen Trei at 479.2812.

January and February Mass Ministries are in the communi-cation center. Just a reminder that if you are unable to fulfill your ministry, please make arrangements with some-one to take your place. Thank you for your thoughtful-ness.

THANK YOU to the Liturgy Committee, Choir, Organ-ists, decorating and all those involved to enable the par-ish to enjoy wonderful and spiritual Christmas Masses. Please take an opportunity to thank those involved.
