• Established in 1980
• Vision – A self-reliant society where people have a sense of service and take
care of social issues locally
• Mission – To serve people based on ethos of pluralism and ensuring happiness for
all without any discrimination of religion, region, language, race or caste
• Directly executes ten programs
• Provides guidance to 3 institutions
• Collaborative working with 12 institutions/Trusts
• Programs spread across Karnataka; now breaking boundaries and reaching across India
• Programs run by full time staff and volunteers

Sevavrati Training and Deployment
• Year started: 1980
• Objective: To train volunteers (Sevavratis) towards serving the needy, underprivileged and marginalized people irrespective of their class, caste, creed, religion and geography
• So far, 30 batches have been trained covering 4,150 male and female Sevavratis – majority being female Sevavratis
• Beneficiaries: One million till date
• Activities in the areas of – Education, Culture, Health & Hygiene, Self Reliance
• Above activities spread over – 27 districts, 43 taluks, 26 cities, 157 villages
• Twelve Sevavratis have served outside Karnataka including remote villages of Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh
Sevavrati Training and Deployment
• Started in 1982
• Provides counseling in various areas – 15,000 beneficiaries till date
• Conducts Lay counselors training – Over 2,000 trained and certified till date
• Prevented over 2,500 suicidal /divorce cases
Family Counseling Center
Yoga Education
• Started in 1981
• Objective: Provide holistic training in Yoga to reach the common household with focus on women
• Provides holistic healing thro’ Yoga – Yogasanas, Pranayama, Meditation
• Conducts Yoga classes and trainings in its fully equipped centers
• Operating across 11 centers in Karnataka • Bangalore (4) - Yogashree, Yoga Mandira, Ajithashree, Seva in Action • Others (7): Bidar, Gulbarga, Chamarajnagar, Mysooru, Sirsi, Hubli,
Tumkur,
• 100,000 trained till date
• Train the Trainer programs - for Yoga teachers
• Yoga Training camps for Sevavratis with focus on training children
Yoga Education
Aruna Chetana (School for differently abled)
• School for differently abled children
• Started in 1987 with 5 children
• Presently benefitting 300 children in the age group of 5 to 16 years
• Offers – Pre-primary and Primary education; Vocational Training
– Counseling to children & training on self-reliance
– Tips and training to parents of differently abled
– Provide Spiritual training
• Provides Training on – Yoga, Games & Cultural programs like Music, Drama
– Basic of Computers to children; and Tally Package to parents
Aruna Chetana - Introduction
• Have bagged – 2 gold medal in Floor Hockey at Para Olympics, USA
– 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze, 1 Consolation prize at District level sports
– 5 Gold, 1 Silver, 2 Bronze medals on the occasion of World disabled day celebration
• 2 children selected to play Volleyball and football at National level
• Children passing out of Aruna Chetana are gainfully employed in various capacities and are financially independent – 4 Physically challenged children employed as tailors
– 1 as lift operator in M.S Ramaiah college
• Accolades: – State Government Award by Dept of Women and child Welfare for
rendering yeomen services

• Started in 1993
• Provides Composite Education to children
• No. of Shishu Mandiras : 40
• No. of children benefitted: 1,150
• No. of teachers involved : 51
• No. of assistants : 39
• Provides Trainings in the following areas – Integrated Child Education
– Pre-Gurukul Training
– 15 day refresher course to teachers conducted annually

Nele
• Rehabilitation centre for homeless
• Started in May 2000 with 15 boys
• Home for girls started in 2003 with 6 girls
• Grown to 10 centers across Karnataka benefitting 300 children – 6 Centers in Bengaluru
– 1 each in Bagalkot, Shivamogga, Mysore, Tumkur
• 10th Anniversary Nele Dashamanotsava celebrated in Feb 2011
• Recipient of 2010 state award instituted by Dept of Women and Child Welfare
Nele - Introduction
• Education – Inmates currently studying from Nursery to Degree
– Study at Government schools in Kannada medium upto 7th Standard
– Based on need either Kannada or English medium from 8th standard
• Sports – Athletics, Karate , Swimming, Kalari fight
– Winners of Kabbadi at Taluk level – Narendra Nele
– First Prize in Taluk level Yoga competition
– Championship award in College Annual Sports Day
• Cultural – Regular Music training for inmates of Premanjali and Asha Kirana
– Matrumandali and Balagokulas at all Neles during week ends
– Celebrated Krishna JanmashTami, Deepavali, Raksha Bandhan
– Conducted Interschool cultural competitions
– Training during vacation for holistic development - Yoga, Veda, Painting, Music

• Started in April 2007 to empower youth to become social change makers
• Attracted over 8,000 volunteers since inception
• Multiple volunteering models
• YFS chapters in 4 cities – Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, New Delhi
• 3 Focus areas – Education, Health, Environment
• Special Initiatives – Sponsor a child, School Kit Drive
• 25,000 beneficiaries annually
• Partner with Corporates in executing their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives
Youth for Seva
Vocational Training
• Started in 2008 to provide vocational training
• Tailoring classes for women
– Over 450 women trained so far
– 250+ gainfully employed
– 3 have setup their own tailoring unit
• Computer Training
– 10 batches completed so far
• Training for women Self Help Groups (sponsored by Govt of Karnataka – Dept. of Women and Child welfare)
– 5 batches of 100 women completed
• Plan to start vocational training in 7 other trades
– Spoken English, Retail Trade, Security, Driving, Motor Mechanic, Carpentry
– Infrastructure and Facility for the above under progress
Vocational Training
• Started in 2014
• Seva Mithra or “friend of the villager”
• First point of contact for the villager regarding – Health
– Community Development
– Any other issues
• Undergoes 2 week boot camp for orientation and training
• Responsible for villages in a 5 Km radius – Covers 2 villages on an average
– About 100 beneficiaries per village
