OpenStage OpenStage is a new product family which provides innovative user so-lutions through intuitively designed functionality and ease of use. Route optimization innetworked HiPath

3000/5000 systems

Route optimization is provided for IP networking on HiPath 3000/5000systems, i.e. transit traffic with identical source and target systems

(switched or forwarded traffic). No more channels are blocked.Call forwarding tovoice mailbox

When forwarding calls from station A to station B, the system may beconfigured to record unanswered calls from voice mailbox A or B.This feature can be activated with Manager E(Station view | Flags | Last destination mailbox active).

LDAP diagnosis If there is no response or a bad response to a query to an LDAP server,the display of the querying device (optiPoint, OpenStage TDM) showsone of the following error messages:● "Server cannot be reached"● "Server busy"● "Server error"When a search query has led to no result, the "No result" error messageappears.HG 1500 provides an error report via Event log/Customer trace andSNMP trap (configurable).

Remote upgradeconcept

The HiPath system software can be upgraded remotely. Customer datais modified to comply with the new software.This function, in particular for HiPath 5000 upgrades, is described in theservice manual.

analog trunk CLIP When a call arrives over an analog trunk, the caller’s number is shown

on the display of the analog extension phone (also applies for optiPointphones).The TMANI and TLANI modules collect the necessary data and forwardit.

EFC (Extended FastConnect)

In HiPath 3000/5000 V7, the CorNet-IP protocol has been extendedwith the addition of the EFC (Extended Fast Connect) protocol variant.EFC is required to be able to fully use all features. For example the fol-lowing features can be used:● Encryption of signaling and voice data in a company network (LAN)● IP/IP E2E payload via enterprise proxy for Internet telephony

All of a system’s IP workpoints (HFA) and all IP workpoints (HFA) withina network must support the EFC protocol.

Direct Payload to theInternet TelephonyService Provider

Direct payload builds on EFC. Calls are routed directly to the Internettelephony service provider via customer LAN and the router. Thereforeno B channels on the HG 1500 module are used from an IP telephoneto Internet telephony service provider. TDM telephones each occupyone DSP channel.

Signaling & PayloadEncryption (SPE)

Enables encrypted VoIP communication. The phone display brieflyshows the call status at the beginning of the call: "Secure Call" or "Stan-

dard Call".No licenses are required for Signaling & Payload Encryption (SPE).ComScendo licenses and B-channel licenses (security licenses) are al-ways generated automatically by the Central License Server (CLS)(one ComScendo security license is required per B channel).

T.38 via DSL Fax communication via DSLUsing the T.38 protocol enables secure transmission of fax signals tothe Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) in HiPath 3000/5000from V7 R4. This function can enabled using WBM; it is activated in thedefault setting.

CSTA monitoring ofInternet TelephonyService Provider(ITSP) lines

Enables the integration of Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP)lines in applications which are connected to the HiPath system via theCSTA port. Therefore there are no longer any CSTA differences bet-ween TDM and ITSP lines.

Mobility Entry (not forUSA)

This feature allows mobile stations to be integrated into the HiPath 3000system. Mobile stations are GSM telephones and telecommuter work-places. The station has access to system features.This feature is implemented through DISA. A mobile station is assignedto a virtual station in the system. In the HiPath 3000 system, all featuresare thus mapped to the virtual stations.

Note: To be able to use Mobility Entry via a GSM telephone, you needto install the HiPath Mobility Client Software. The HiPath Mobility ClientSoftware is developed and provided by the company Speech Design.The following website lists the GSM telephones are approved for Mobi-lity Entry: http://www.speech-design.com/en/products/hipath-mobility-client-software/ It is also possible to download the latest version of the HiPath MobilityClient Software.Note: It is only after possible to view the information once you have re-gistered.

Lightning protectionstrip(part numberC39334-Z7052-C31)

The lightening protection strip is an addition lightening protection forHiPath 3000 and is only used for Brazil. It offers lightening protection upto approx. 4 kV.The power supply cable of the HiPath 3000 must be plugged into thelightning protection strip. The lightning protection strip should be con-nected to the line voltage.

Power Box PB3000 The Power Box PB3000 is needed in a system● for emergency battery operation in the event of a power failure; that

is, when the function of an uninterruptible power supply is required.● if the system-internal power supply of the HiPath 3000 is insuf-

ficient to supply all connected terminals (corded and cordless).

Internet TelephonyService Provider inIP networking

A HiPath system can be simultaneously registered at an Internet Tele-phony Service Provider and be integrated into an IP network.The systems in the network can also use the SIP numbers for incomingand outgoing calls. Each extension (TDM, HFA, SIP and H.323 devices)in the networked system may obtain an MSN/DDI from the Internet te-lephony service provider or transmits its default station number whencalled.

Four Internet Tele-phony Service Provi-ders Simultaneously

Using several providers helps to reduce costs.Up to four ITSPs (Internet Telephony Service Provider) can be connec-ted to a HiPath system at the same time. ITSPs can be prioritized usingLCR on the basis of the number dialed and the time.

STUN support HiPath provides a STUN client for NAT Traversal that works togetherwith a STUN server at the ITSP. The ITSP is accessed by an externalrouter connected to the HiPath.

As of HiPath 3000/5000 V7, the node station number of networked systems is ente-red as follows: Settings | System parameters | Flags. The path "Settings | Lines/

networking | Routes | PABX Number Incoming: PABX number" is no longer possible.When updating to HiPath 3000/5000V8, note that after the customer database con-version, the node number is entered under Settings | System Parameters | Flags.Otherwise IP networked subsystems can no longer call the CO.

2.1 Target Group and Use of this Manual

This document contains brief installation and startup instructions for a HiPath system or network.It is intended for technically advanced customers who want to perform the initial startup of theirHiPath 3000/5000 IP system themselves, and configure the basic Internet telephony features.In addition, it is a useful aid for trained service personnel who want a brief overview of the chro-nological sequence of startup activities.

2.2 Varieties of the HiPath 3000/5000 IP System

HiPath 3000/5000 V8 is a highly scalable communications system designed for both small and

medium-sized companies as well as for extensive enterprise networks. HiPath 3000/5000 V8is available in a wide range of configurations – from straightforward standalone systems with asmall number of stations to centrally administered networks with 64 nodes and up to 2000workpoint clients (IP and TDM telephones and IP clients). The system architecture avails of theadvantages of distributed systems to spread the load placed on individual components and toachieve optimal performance.

HiPath 3000/5000 V8 is available in the following three varieties:

With the Inventory Manager, you can quickly obtain a complete overview of all integratedcomponents and installed applications in the HiPath 3000/5000 V8 network. For service

technicians, the quick, concise overview which can be called up for the version numbers ofall communication servers in the network (HiPath 3000 and HiPath 5000) can be particu-larly useful. The information can be accessed from every PC in the network.

The following information can be called up:

– Information on all HiPath 3000 and HiPath 5000 systems in the network, including in-formation on their respective boards (e.g. HG 1500),

– Information on all applications and operating systems installed on the PCs in the net-work,

– Display of the hierarchical structure of hardware components and their software versi-ons.

● Software Manager User Guide

With the Software Manager you can query, update and back up the current system soft-ware for individual HiPath components via a web browser. The assignment of the HiPathcomponents to the individual nodes can also be quickly ascertained. The functions are dis-tributed as follows:

– with the integrated Upgrade Manager you can query and update the system software

of all HiPath components,– with the integrated Backup Manager you can back up the system software. These back-

ups can then be used to restore the systems in the event of a system crash.

4.4 Initial Startup of HiPath 3000

Initial startup must be performed for each HiPath 3000 system.

7 Caution (for Brazil only)

For protection against overvoltage due to lightning, the use of the lightning protectionstrip with part number C39334-Z7052-C31 is absolutely mandatory. In the HiPath3000 Service Manual, HiPath 3000 Startup Chapter, following the described voltagesupply steps.


1. Connect the V.24 interface of the HG 1500 module and the serial inter-face of the administration PC (e.g. COM1) using a null modem cable.Note:Initial connection of the system to the LAN using a direct connection(null modem cable) is described below.

2. Connect the system to the power source and perform a reload. A de-fault CDB (Customer DataBase) is loaded with the country setting“Germany”.Note:When using a lightning protection strip (part number C39334-Z7052-C31), carry out the voltage supply steps described in the Service Ma-nual.

3. Perform country initialization with Assistant T, if necessary. “Germany”is set by default. If you have changed the country initialization, the Hi-Path 3000 is restarted.

Status:The HiPath 3000 is booted, the connected system telephones are de-tected and the ISDN lines are configured for the EDSS1 protocol.

4.5 Connecting the HiPath 3000 to the LAN via the HG 1500

The HiPath 3000 is connected to the LAN via the HG 1500. You must first assign an IP addressto the LAN1 interface of the HG 1500 and a default router to the gateway. When connecting

additional HiPath 3000 systems (nodes) you must repeat the steps described below.

For initial setup of the HG 1500, you have the following possibilities:

● use the Command Line Interpreter (CLI)

● carry out the initial setup via remote access

Initial setup using the CLI is described below.


Starting and configuring the HyperTerminal connection

1. Start HyperTerminal on the administration PC underStart | Programs | Accessories | Communications.

Make the following settings:

2. Specify a name for the connection, e.g. HG 1500.

3. Select the COM port to which the HG 1500 is connected, e.g. COM1.

4. Make these settings:● for HG 1500 – 19200 bps● for STMI – 38400 bps

Administration using the Command Line Interface (CLI)

1. When the HyperTerminal connection has been established, you canaccess the HG 1500by pressing the Enter key.

2. Log on with a username and password. The default username andpassword can be obtained from the system administrator.

Note:You can change the username and password using HiPath 3000Manager E in the HiPath 3000 system.

In the CLI, enter the following commands after the vxTarget> prompt:

6. set default gateway zzz.zzz.zzz.zzz Wildcard for the default router of the gateway, e.g. 1.150.6.10

7. add wbm client aaa.aaa.aaa.aaa Wildcard for PC that the HG 1500 can configure using Web-Based Ma-nagement, e.g. 1.150.1.10.

8. save configuration Stores the settings.

9. reset Restarts the HG 1500.

Once the entries for IP addresses 1 and 2 are displayed on the CLI, thereset is complete. Press the Enter key again to return to the login

prompt.

Closing the HyperTerminal connection

1. Close the “HyperTerminal” program to release the COM interface forsubsequent administration with HiPath 3000 Manager.

1. Connect the V.24 interface of the HiPath 3000 and the serial interfaceof the administration PC using a null modem cable.

Note:You can remove the null modem cable from the HG 1500 and insert itin the HiPath 3000 V.24 interface. This can be done while the systemis running.

2. Start HiPath 3000 Manager with Start | Programs | HiPath 3000 Ma-

nager | HiPath 3000 Manager and log on with a username and pass-word. The default username and password can be obtained from thesystem administrator.Note:You can change the username and password using HiPath 3000Manager E in the HiPath 3000 system.

3. Load the CDB from the HiPath 3000 by means of the direct connectionwith File | Transfer | Communication | System -> PC.The options Direct and Read/write CDB must be selected.

5. In Settings | Network | Basic Settings, enter the IP address of HiPath3000 (e.g. 1.150.1.231) and the subnet mask of HiPath 3000(255.0.0.0) in the LAN Interface field.

6. If required you can define which IP PC can be reached via which gate-way under Settings | Network... | Routing . To do this enter the IP PCsIP address (e.g. 1.150.1.112), the subnet mask (network mask e.g.255.0.0.0) and the gateway (e.g. 1.150.1.10).

7. Restore the data to the system via the direct connection with File |Transfer | Communication | PC -> System.


8. Save the CDB.File | Save CDB As...

Status:The HiPath 3000 can now be configured via LAN with HiPath 3000 Ma-nager. The null modem cable can be removed from the HiPath 3000.

4.6 Initial Configuration of the HiPath 3000

Initial configuration must be performed for each individual HiPath 3000 system.


1. Connect the HG 1500 of the HiPath 3000 with the LAN.Note:The administration PC must also be connected to the LAN.

2. Check the LAN connection to the HG 1500 and to the HiPath 3000using a Ping command (e.g. ping 1.150.1.231).Now use HiPath 3000 Manager to load the CDB of HiPath 3000 withFile | Transfer | Communication | System -> PC.The options Read/write CDB and IP HiPath must be selected. As theIP address, select the IP address of the HiPath 3000 (in our example:1.150.1.231).


3. Check whether the system telephones were detected correctly by sel-ecting Settings | Set up Station | Stations.Assign the appropriate station names to the station numbers of the sy-

stem telephones (can be found in the customer’s numbering plan or therequirements specification).Note:Here you can already assign the appropriate station names to the sta-tion numbers of the IP clients (can be found in the customer’s numbe-ring plan or the requirements specification).

4. You can change the station parameters by clicking the Station View button above the navigation area.

5. Enter a name for the system in the System Name field under Settings| System Parameters | System Settings. This name is displayed onthe display of the system telephones (currently not on OpenStage 40,60, 80).

6. Under Settings | Lines/Networking | Routes, specify a route name(e.g. ISDN) in the Route Name field and the international dialing code(e.g. 49), the area code (e.g. 89), and the call number of the systemwithout intercept code (e.g. 722) in the System Number-Incoming field.

7. Check the protocol of the trunks with Settings | Lines/Networking |

Trunks. To do this, select a line and click the corresponding "Param"field.

8. Load any additional system languages with System Status | System-wide | System Texts. There are a total of eight system languages inall, four of which are defined by default and the other four loaded on auser-defined basis.Note:When loading the system languages, you should first transfer the CDBto the system, save it, and then change the system languages. A re-start is performed automatically following a change to the system lan-

guages.

9. Restore the data to the system withFile | Transfer | Communication | PC -> System




The date and time are updated after the first connection setup to theCO.

Status:The system telephones have been set up correctly, the system is ac-cessible from the CO, and administration of the system via LAN is pos-sible.

Licensing the Features

4.7 Licensing the Features

Some features must be licensed before you can use them. For example, these include the useof more than two B channels.

In this case you must install License Management, including a license agent (CLA), on a PC inthe network. The License Management software is available either on the software CD forHiPath 3000/5000 V8 or on a separate CD. After installation you can use License Managementto request a license file with the aid of the authorization code or MAC address of the HiPath3000 Control Board (CB). Details can be found in the License Management Online Help. Assoon as licensing is finished, you receive a license file, which is installed automatically in a sub-directory of the CLA (Customer License Agent). The licensing procedure must be repeated foreach HiPath 3000 system in the network. These files contain all of the data required for the sub-sequent distribution of the licenses for the features. This distribution of licenses is performedusing HiPath 3000 Manager.

>If the CLA and HiPath 3000 Manager are not on the same PC, the IP address of thePC on which the CLA is installed can be entered in a configuration file in theHiPath 3000 Manager directory.The configuration file (ass_150e.ini - Cla_Host) can be found in the directoryC:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Siemens\Manager E.


Licensing the features with HiPath 3000 ManagerPerform the following steps for each HiPath 3000 system.

Requirement:You have installed License Management, including a license agent, on aPC in the network and have requested and received the required licensefile(s) (xml file). You can check that the license file(s) for the license agenthas/have been transferred correctly with License Management.

1. Using HiPath 3000 Manager, load the CDB from the desired HiPath3000 path via File | Transfer | Communication | System -> PC.The options Read/write CDB and IP HiPath must be selected. As theIP address, select the IP address of the HiPath 3000 (in our example:1.150.1.231).

Configuring the IP Clients

4.8 Configuring the IP Clients

IP clients are both system clients such as the IP system telephone optiPoint 420 or the softwareIP client optiClient 130 and S0 /vCAPI stations such as H.323 clients or vCAPI clients. The IP

clients must be configured in the HiPath 3000 and then managed in the client software.


Configuration with HiPath 3000 Manager

1. Using HiPath 3000 Manager, load the CDB for the HiPath 3000 withFile | Transfer | Communication | System -> PC.The options Read/write CDB and IP HiPath must be selected. As the

IP address, select the IP address of the HiPath 3000 (in our example:1.150.1.231).


2. In the Station View, select the station (IP client).

3. Click the arrow symbol after the station number entry to change to theSet up Station | Stations dialog.

4. For each station, enter the station number, the extension (DID number)and the name. To save the changes, click Apply.

5. In the menu Settings | Set up Station, change to Gatekeeper:● In the Gatekeeper tab, select the slot for the HG 1500 module.●

Select the IP station from the Stations list.● Specify whether the selected station is to be set up as a system

client, an H.323 client or an SIP client. Then click Set up. To savethe changes, click Apply.

Note 1:If you have already assigned names to the call numbers of the IP cli-ents (see 2.2.5), these names are displayed here.Note 2:If S0 stations are also to be configured on the Gatekeeper, the optionEnable Gateway Resources must be activated. Only then can theGateway tab be used to set up the S0 stations.

6. In the Gatekeeper tab, select the “System Client” for IP system tele-phones (e.g. optiPoint 420) and optiClient 130.

7. In the Gatekeeper tab, select the “H.323 Client” for H.323 clients andvCAPI stations.

8. In the Gatekeeper tab, select the “SIP Client” for SIP stations.Note:SIP stations do not require a fixed IP address.

9. In addition, when configuring H.323 clients:

In Station View, select the relevant H.323 client and click the Work-point Client tab. In the "IP address" field, select the option Fixed IPaddress and specify the IP address of the H.323 client.If an H.323 client is operated on the Gatekeeper, the Gatekeeper as-signs the call number and IP address. The IP address 0.0.0.0 must beconfigured in this case.Notes:● Before assigning an IP address, use Ping to ensure that this

address has not already been assigned.● If the parameter Analog adapter connected is activated, H.323

calls are carried out over a DSP and features are activated in thesystem.

Status:The IP clients are configured in the HiPath 3000 and can be managed

using the software.

1. Open the configuration menu on the telephone.-- on the optiPoint 420: press the keys 1, 0 and 3 simultaneously --The following appears in the telephone display:Administration:

8. You should then start your browser and set up a connection with theterminal:Example: https://1.150.1.112Web-Based Management is started.

9. Click Administration and enter your password. Then click System fol-lowed by Gateway Settings. Configure the gateway address (gatekee-per module) and the subscriber number (IP client’s station number).

10. To complete your settings, press Submit.The terminal now automatically logs onto the system.

Administration of an IP software client (H.323 client)

1. When configuring the IP client, specify the IP address of theHG 1500 as a gatekeeper!

Status:The IP clients are ready.

4.9 Further Configuration

Additional settings such as least cost routing (LCR), call pickup groups, or class of servicesmust be configured with HiPath 3000 Manager. These settings should only be made by trained

service personnel.

4.10 Connection to the Internet

You can establish an Internet connection using the HG 1500 board integrated in theHiPath 3000. Information on the different options available and instructions for configuring themare provided with examples in the document "HiPath 3000/5000 Feature Usage Examples,Chapter Practical Examples HG 1500".
