Goal: Reduce the HIV transmission in the country

Indicators (2):

• Percentage of young women and men aged 15 to 24 who are HIV infected

• Percentage of infants born to HIV positive mothers who are HIV infected

Indicators: Percentage of

• Young women and men aged 15–24 who both correctly identify ways of preventing the sexual transmission of HIV and who reject major misconceptions about HIV transmission

• Young men and women (15-24) who have had sexual intercourse before the age of 15 (Universal Access)

• Young men and women (15-24) who have had sexual intercourse before the age of 15 reduced from 9.5% and 10.6% in 2003/4 to 7% in 2012 (F 11%, M10%)

Women and men aged 15–49 who had more than one sexual partner in the past 12 months reporting the use of a condom during their last sexual intercourse.

• Women who feel that a wife is justified to propose condom use if she knows that her husband has an STI

• % of patients with STI at health care facilities who are appropriately diagnosed, treated and counseled

# of patients with STIs who are appropriately diagnosed, treated and counseled increased from 67% in 2005 (NACP) to 75% in 2012

Sub-theme 6 Prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV Indicators and Target

• % of HIV-positive pregnant women who received antiretrovirals to reduce the risk of mother to child transmission

• % of HIV-positive pregnant women who received antiretrovirals to reduce the risk of mother to child transmission increased from 12% in 2006 to 96% in 2012.

• % of women and men aged 15 to 49 who had more than one sexual partner in the past 12 months reporting the use of a condom during their last sexual intercourse.
