Dear Alumni,
I am pleased to present the 22nd
issue of alumni bulletin. The college organized Campus
Drives with TCS. HK also participated in pooled campus drive of Advantmed, Nestle.
Students participated in Career guidance session, Republic day celebration, Annual College
Cultural Festival (Orane‟18) and Annual sports‟ day, Industrial visits.
As ever, we always work towards giving you more and more news about college, do send us
your views and suggestions.

PLACEMENT CELL AND CAREER SESSION
Placement cell organized plethora of activities to gear students for campus drives and job
interviews. Academic year 2018-2019 witnessed individual student counselling with respect
to higher studies and career. Career guidance sessions included sessions on Resume writing,
Regulatory, Clinical Research, Marketing and higher studies. Recruiting companies were
Tata Consultancy Private Limited (TCS Pvt. Ltd), Nestle Pvt. Ltd. (Pooled Campus),
Fresenius Kabi, Cipla, SOL Strategy, Cognizant, Aishwarya Group, Reelabs. TCS campus
drive selected 10 students, Fresenius Kabi selected 4 students, Cipla selected 5 students and
SOL Strategy selected 3 students during campus drive.

SPORTS DAY
H. K. College of Pharmacy celebrated annual sports day on 15
th January, 2019. It was a really
energetic and enthusiastic day as the ground of HK Campus was crowded with students of all
B.Pharm, M.Pharm as well as all the teaching staffs. The day started off with the national
anthem. This was followed by the athletic event. The audience next witnessed various
displays symbolizing alternative source of energy. The displays made way for the highly
awaited athletic events where competitiveness among the students soared through the roof.
Another highlight of the day was where all the teachers as well as principal mixed with
students and involved in playing. The indoor events were inaugurated by the principal Dr.
Anubha Khale. The indoor games included carom, chess and table tennis. The outdoor events
included throw ball, football, volleyball, box cricket for girls as well boys. As the day came
to an end, where winning and losing is an on-going process, but also learnt that talent wins
game.
ANNUAL DAY ‘ORANE-2019’
H. K. College of Pharmacy celebrated 10th Annual day, on 13
th February 2019 at
Renaissance Federation Club, Andheri (W). The event was graced by the Chief guest,
Mr. Ketan Dhamanaskar, General Manager, Zoetis India Ltd and Guest of honor, Mr.
Satish Kakodkar, Regional International Director-South Asia, Teledyne Hanson
Research Principal, Dr. Anubha Khale presented the annual report for the academic
year 2017-
18. Chief Guest and guest of honor shared few words of experiences with the students.
The 9th edition of College magazine „Impulse 19‟ entitled “Cardiology……Science of
0.8 second” was inaugurated by Chief Guests, Technical Director, Principal, Vice
Principal and Magazine committee members of the institute. Prize Distribution
ceremony was held wherein trophies, medals and certificates were distributed to the
toppers of 17-18 batch and winners of Sports, Cultural, Co-Curricular and Extra-
Curricular Activities. Best Class award was given to T.Y. B. Pharm class. This was
followed by Cultural events like solo dance, group dance, duet dance, fashion show,
singing, skit etc.
CONVOCATION CEREMONY
“Convocation ceremony” is one of the most awaited ceremony for all, especially the graduate
students. Total 60 students cleared their Pharmacy graduation in 2018, out of which 20
students along with their family were present for the ceremony. The ceremony started with
the procession of the graduating students, who were allined behind our honorable guests. The
programme started with lighting of the lamp and ringing of the bell. Introduction of chief
guest was done by Dr. Anubha Khale. The students and the audience were inspired by speech
of Ms. Siji Varghese. She explained that no ties can ever hold an individual. Guest Mr.
Subodh Priolkar, shared his views regarding the impact of education in our country. He
addressed students about the current situation of industrial growth in global market. Mr.
Sunil Chaturvedi advised the graduate students that they should respect their parents because
they are one who sacrificed their dreams so that your dreams come true. Prof. Dr.
Vinaykumar Velingkar has given the words of encouragement and motivation to the
graduating students of HKCP. This was followed by the ceremony of conferring the degrees
to HKCP, HKIMSR and HKCE. A common oath was read by Dr. Vinay Kumar Velingkar
(Technical director HKCP) and it was followed by all graduating students. The ceremony was
ended by vote of thanks followed by national anthem.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT
The industry visit to Medley Research Centre, Off Andheri Kurla Road, Andheri (East), was
organized for T. Y. B. Pharm. Total 66 students and 2 faculties visited the company on
Saturday 16th March and 30
th March 2018. Mr.Vijay Bagul, Sr.GM Analytical Department
welcomed the faculty and students. The students were divided into groups for visiting the
different sections in the lab. Mr. Vinayak and Mr. Sawant of Analytical Department briefed
the students about the working and procedures followed in the department. Students were
exposed to different instruments like HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV and Centralized Humidity
chamber. The faculty thanked Mr. Vijay Bagul, GM-Analytical Development, MEDLEY
RESEARCH CENTRE and his team for their cooperation and explanation to the students.
HOSPITAL VISIT
The Hospital visit was organized for First Year B. Pharm. Total 51 students visited the
Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital on 4th
and 5th April 2019. First year students were
divided into two groups, „Group A‟ Roll no. 1-30 and Group B Roll no. 31-60. Group A
visited hospital on 4th April and was accompanied by faculty members Mrs. Rachel Britto
and Mrs. Pariaml Kotkar, Group B visited hospital on 5th April 2019 was accompanied by
faculty members, Ms. Shamshiya Malik and Dr. Iram Nazish. Students were told to gather at
hospital by 10.00 am. Students attendance were recorded by faculty members. Faculty
members visited Mr. Neeraj Dhabhai, Sr.Inventory maneger of Kokilaben hospital. He
assigned his staff to show the CSSD department and Drug store. Students were divided into
two groups and one by one each group has visited both the departments. Mr. Rahul showed
the CSSD and explain about the sterilisation technique used in hospital for instruments,
patient gowns etc. He also showed different equipment‟s and its working for sterilization. Mr.
Tushar showed the hospitals drug store area. Each department in storage area like walk in
refrigerator, pneumatic tube system, high risk medicine area, inventory area etc was
thoroughly explained by Mr. Tushar, also answered queries of the students. This session
ended with vote of thanks by faculty members to Mr. Neeraj Dhabhai for giving permission
to visit the departments and for informative sessions. The visit gave a lot of knowledge to the
students which help them in their studies. Students came to know about the actual work of
pharmacist.
MEDICINAL GARDEN VISIT
Medicinal garden visit was scheduled for S. Y. B. Pharm students on 16th April 2019 at
Maharashtra Nature Park, Dharavi, Mumbai. Students reported at the park at 8:30 am and
visit was started at 9:00 am. Visit was started with showing audio visual clip and
presentation about the nature park, in which they informed about the history of the park,
different varieties and species of plants which were planted, also they told about different
workshops, programs, educational tours conducted in the park. After this student were
divided in to 2 groups and allotted with two guides, each group was accompanied by a
faculty member. During visit of garden, guides informed about the medicinal plants
which were planted. They told about the common name, biological source and main uses
of the medicinal plants. They informed about the cultivation and collection of different
parts of the medicinal plants. Also, guide informed about different species of butterflies
and birds which were available in the park. They showed the nursery of the medicinal
plants during the visit. For completing visit of the 20 acres garden it took around 2 hrs.
The visit of medicinal garden was very fruitful and students got good knowledge of the
medicinal plants from the guides help them in their studies. Students came to know about
the actual work of pharmacist.
FAREWELL Farewell function was organized on 15
th April by third year students for the final year
students of batch 2015-2019. The program started with the video of final year students
prepared by third year. Mr. Rishab Pandey and Mr. Furqan anchored for the program. Final
year students prepared presentation that included information of students along with their
journey of 4 years which was presented for 2-3 hrs. In between that presentation students
interacted with the faculty and shared their thoughts for college as well as for teachers. Token
of appreciation as gift was handed over to each student from faculty, Principal and Technical
director of college. Principal Madam delivered her motivational and inspirational thoughts
about the batch and she also appreciated the performance of this batch. This was followed by
a photo session after which food served to students.
