Mission Statement: To create a place of learning that is welcoming to the community and promotes a natural atmosphere in the build environment awhile encouraging sustainability and preserving the history of the farm.


Class Goals & Strategies

Class Goals & Strategies

Site: minimal impact, adaptability to site programs, habitat presentation and permaculture design.

Waste: human, construction, and occupancy- resources grey to black water with compost toilets and constructed wetlands; green materials, best management practices, construction process; building training requirements for operations, maintenance and occupants.

Water: on site resources, conservation, and reuse with storage, filtration, aquifer recharge, gravity feeds, net zero “watergy” (energy used to move water), retention.

Materials: regional material, collection, reuse, local labor and artisan craftsmanship, low embodied energy, simple, biodegradable and/or recyclable.

Energy: Net Zero with on site production, conservation and systems education, high efficiency- lights, HVAC, appliances, etc., passive lighting/heating/cooling.

Our goal is to design an educational building that has both a low impact on the environment and ties in design and form to the surrounding Evergreen Organic Farm.

The design from Quad two integrates with the current farm. Our design offers a finer facility for learn with the proper equipment and space for potential classes.

Additionally By having a through pagoda entrance to the new facilities abutting Demeters our aim to connect the existing farm with the surrounding forest.

The structure of our building allows great passive heating and out on the second growth and pine forest.
