Rotational Molding Troubleshooting

Problem : Holes in other area

 

Blow holes through part or ringworm effect underpart wall

surface - other than parting line and around inserts 

Mold porosity-pososity trapped below the

surface- Send the mold (usually associated with cast aluminum molds)for repair

Probable Cause  Possible Solutions 

Impurities on mold surface - Clean mold properly, repair any scratches or surface marksto provent impurities for entrapment.

Poor welds line

- Drill through the location of blow holes and refill with weldmaterial, or by grinding out the old line and then remake the

complete weld (weldline should be on the inside surface)

- Use professional-quality welding rod (containing antioxidants &

UV stabilizers)
