Prof. AV. F. Drake and lady leftfor Rock Port last Friday, to takecharge of the PubllcSchool of that place,which commenced Monday, the 21st.He was accompanied by Miss LidePotter and Miss Alice Parker, both ofwhom occupy positions in the sameschool.

Mr. David E. Porter, a son of thelate Admiral Porter, sailed ftom Boston recently on his way to Egypt,where he will accept a position on thestaffof the Khedive.

Gen. Fitz Hugh Lee of Alexandria,a., has received a letter from the

Khedive of Egypt, asking whether itwill be possible to assemble the oldmembers of the famous Black Horsecavalry, and orgauize them Into abody-guar- d for the ruler of Egypt. Ifsuch a reorganization can bp effected,the viceroy desires General Lee to takecommand of the force. It is not likelythat more than a score of the old BlackHorse cavalry could be brought together at all, and it is still less likely thatthe surviving members would bo willing to leave their homes to follow thefortunes of Ismail Pasha.
