Junior Deputy Program:
The Fifth Grade is celebrating their graduation from the Junior Deputy Program Thursday, March
22nd, 2012, at 10:30 AM. Parents and grandparents are welcome to attend the graduation. It will
be held in the Holy Cross Parish Hall. Refreshments will be served. Thanks to the Jackson County
Sheriff's Office for providing this outreach to Holy Cross School.
El quinto grado está celebrando su graduación en el Programa junior Deputy Jueves, 22 de marzo
2012, a las 10:30 AM. Los padres y los abuelos están invitados a asistir a la graduación. Se llevará
a cabo en el Salón Parroquial de Holy Cross. Se servirán refrescos. Gracias a la Oficina del Sheriff

Scholastic Book Fair:
The book fair will be here Monday, March 26th, through Friday, March 30th. Students will be
allowed to view the book fair Monday and make purchases the remaining days of the week.

REGISTRATION:
Holy Cross School is an accredited elementary school. Registration is currently under way; fees
are $175.00 per child and will increase to $200.00 per child May 1st
. Tuition rates vary based on
the number of children in each family. Tuition assistance is available.
Registration forms are coming in daily. There are commitments from 40 families with 64 students
who intend to return next year. Do not assume a space will be held for your child if we do not
have a registration form.

Since the first Saturday of April is Holy Saturday, our next First Saturday Celebration, will be celebrated on
the second Saturday, on April 14, at St John Francis Regis Church located at 8941 James A. Reed Road,
K.C.,Mo. 64138.
Rosary, Confessions and Meditations will begin at 8:00 am followed by Mass at 9:00 am. Our Lady promised
to assist at the hour of death those who complete these devotions on five consecutive First Saturdays. Please
take advantage of this offer and begin April 14th.

Reflections from Pope Benedict XVI "Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears
much fruit" (Jn 12: 24). Now is no longer the time for words and discourses; indeed the cru-
cial hour has come for which the Son of God came into the world and although his soul is
troubled, he makes himself available to fulfill the Father's will to the end. And this is the will
of God: to give eternal life to us who have lost it. However, in order for this to be brought
about Jesus dies, like a grain of wheat that God the Father has sown in the world. Indeed,
only in this way can a new humanity germinate and grow, free from the dominion of sin and
able to live in brotherhood, as sons and daughters of the one Father who is in Heaven.
In the great celebration of faith we experienced that this new humanity is alive, even with its
human limitations. Abundant fruits are gathered wherever missionaries, like Jesus, have
given their life and continue to spend it for the Gospel. I would like to address a special
thought of gratitude to them for the good that they do. They are women and men both reli-
gious and lay. It was beautiful for me to see the fruit of their love for Christ and to observe
the Christian's profound gratitude to them. Let us give thanks to God and pray to Most Holy
Mary that Christ's message of hope and love may spread throughout the world.
Refleciones del Papa Benedicto XVI
"Si el grano de trigo no cae en tierra y muere, queda él solo; pero si muere, da mucho
fruto" (Jn 12, 24). Ya no es hora de palabras y discursos; ha llegado la hora decisiva, para la
cual ha venido al mundo el Hijo de Dios y, a pesar de que su alma está turbada, se muestra
dispuesto a cumplir hasta el fondo la voluntad del Padre. Y la voluntad de Dios es darnos la
vida eterna que hemos perdido. Pero para que esto se realice es necesario que Jesús muera,
como un grano de trigo que Dios Padre ha sembrado en el mundo, pues sólo así podrá
germinar y crecer una nueva humanidad, libre del dominio del pecado y capaz de vivir en
fraternidad, como hijos e hijas del único Padre que está en los cielos.
En la gran fiesta de la fe experimentamos que esta nueva humanidad está viva, a pesar de sus
límites humanos. Donde los misioneros, como Jesús, han dado y siguen dando su vida por el
Evangelio, se recogen abundantes frutos. A ellos en particular deseo expresar mi gratitud por
el bien que hacen. Se trata de religiosas, religiosos, laicos y laicas. Para mí fue hermoso ver el
fruto de su amor a Cristo y constatar el profundo agradecimiento que los cristianos sienten
por ellos. Demos gracias a Dios por ello y oremos a María santísima para que en todo el
mundo se difunda el mensaje de esperanza y de amor de Cristo.

I would like to thank all the parishoners from Holy Cross who and supported the St.
Joseph’s table at St. Anthony. Proceeds will go to help Holy Cross School.
I also would like to thank Benito & Cesar and everyone who helped prepare such a
wonderful lunch for our Diocesan Hispanic Meeting that was held this past Wednesday.
We were able to showcase all the great work done here at Holy Cross. Thanks again to
everyone.
Del Padre Jason Me gustaría dar las gracias a todos los feligreses de Holy Cross que vinieron apoyar la
Mesa de San Jose en San Antonio. Las ganancias irán a ayudar a la Escuela Santa Cruz.
Tambien quiero agradecer a Benito y Cesar y todos los que ayudaron a preparar un delici-
oso almuerzo para nuestro Encuentro Hispano Diocesano que tuvimos el Miercoles pasado.
Podrimos mostrar todo el gran trabajo que hacemos aquí en la Parroquia deSanta Cruz.
