The Department of Commerce (Self

financed) was started in the year 2007 with an

Postgraduate programme. The Under

Graduate programme was established during

2010-2011 also the M.Phil programme was

established in the year 2012-2013. The

department aims at enabling the students to

be more competent to meet the challenges of

life, positive personality, and holistic

development through systematic and diverse

teaching methods with personal attention

and expert guidance. The Department has a

strong faculty background contributing to

quality education of the student community.

To enhance the quality of education and all

round development, the students are exposed

to industrial visits, summer internship

p r o g r a m m e s a n d e x e c u t i v e s k i l l

development programmes.The Department

feels proud that the students are dynamic,

innovative, enterprising and they are able to

come out with confidence, humanity and

dedication to serve for themselves and the

society in large.

Digital Marketing is the practice of

promoting products and services using database-

driven online distribution channels to reach

consumers in a timely, relevant, personal and

cost-effective manner. Digital marketing centers

around the Internet, which has become both a

communication vehicle and a very powerful

marketing medium as the recent Doubleclick

acquisition in computer. The Internet can be used

both to push a message to someone like email, IM,

RSS, or voice broadcast, as well to “pull” content

serving a banner ad and Pay Per Click search

terms. Digital marketing, therefore, can be

thought of as the combination of push and pull

Internet technologies to execute marketing

campaigns. Because it is digital, a reporting

engine can be layered within a campaign

allowing the organization to see in real-time how

the campaign is performing, such as what is being

viewed, how often, how long, as well as other

actions such as responses, rates and purchases

made. Digital marketing is constantly evolving

and new technologies are being created all the

time.

A seminar organized by our department is

likely to take the concept of digital marketing to

the hearts of the youth, especially young women.

In this earnest endeavor and hope, we take a

closer look at 'Digital Marketing.
