    GOSPEL MEDITATION

    !

Happy Trinity Sunday! In today's Gospel, we hear Jesus declare together all

three Persons of the Trinity. "Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." !When we speak of the Trinity, two different theo-logical words are sometimes used: immanent and economic. The immanent Trinity is the life of the three Persons within themselves, the inner harmo-nious relationship between Father, Son, and Spirit. We see this in the Gospels when Jesus speaks of his Father and promises to send the Holy Spirit. The term "economic" has its roots in the Greek word oikonomia, roughly meaning "household management." The economic Trinity is our threepersoned relationship with creation; it is creation and redemption and ongoing relationship with us.!Made in the image and likeness of God, we are called to imitate God's immanence by giving and receiving love with one another in community. However, this is not limited only to those close to us, though that's where love often starts. We also imitate the economy of God when we go out, when we extend our love and care in a lifegiving way. "Go therefore ?"!Every believer is sent on a mission. Every believer is invited to follow Jesus and the Apostles "to the nations," to the margins, to the people who require a little extra reach. This could be a distant relative, the residents of your local homeless shelter, or even the forgotten neighbor next door. When we love well, we create something beautiful, a rela-tionship, a holy moment, a foretaste of heaven. This Trinity Sunday, take some time to examine the relationships in your life. How well do you love those nearest to you? How well do you reach out to those farther away? How are you creating something beautiful?!

Come and celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi on Sunday, June 3, at Most Holy Trinity in Saco. Eu-charistic Adoration will take place 11:30 AM to 6 PM. The 6 PM Holy Hour will be followed by a procession to the Per-petual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. The Chapel is located on Thornton Avenue in Saco, in the con-vent adjacent to the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Church. !!

Also, consider spending one hour per week at the Adoration Chapel. Christ said He would be with us always, until the end of time. In the Holy Eucha-rist, He is. The Eucharist truly is Jesus Christ under the appearance of bread. By spending time in ado-ration, we allow ourselves to be transformed by that encounter. By having many people commit to a specific hour, an unceasing adoration takes place. To become an adorer or substitute, please contact the following individuals for the following timeframes:!!

    Midnight6 AM Steve Plante, 2830782! 6 AMNoon Priscilla Welch, 7101913! Noon6 PM Lucille Simard, 2847627! 6 PMMidnight Virginia Calvo, 4321151 !

During the summer months, it is a tradition at St. Mary Church in Wells to increase the number of Extraordinary Ministers for Com-munion for the distribution of the Consecrated Hosts, and to elimi-

nate the cups with the Precious Blood. This is due to the sizes of the congregations and the in-crease in Masses in Wells, as well as to the addi-tion of the Ogunquit Summer Mission. We will, however, have one cup with the Precious Blood at the back of the middle aisle for those who have a wheat allergy. In Ogunquit, we will continue to have Hosts only. Remember that this only per-tains to the Wells and Ogunquit churches. Kennebunk will remain as it is with Hosts and Precious Blood at all Masses.!

    !

The Centering Prayer Group welcomes newcomers. !

If interested, please call !Deacon Darrell Blackwell !

at 4670956.!Inserts for the bulletin must be submitted by 12 noon on Fri-days. Holidays change the deadline. Contact Mark Reeth at [email protected] or 646!5605.

    graduating class of

    2018!

On Sunday, June 3, Holy Spirit Parish will hold Recognition Masses for all graduating high school students and their families. Those Masses will take place at 9 AM at St. Mary Church in Wells and at 10 AM at St. Martha Church in Kennebunk. This will provide an opportunity for the Par-ish to honor, congratulate, and pray for our graduates. We ask that, if possible, parents bring their graduate’s baptismal candle to Mass in order to symbolically “pass on” the light of faith to their graduate. If unable to locate one’s baptismal candle, one can be pro-vided. !!

If you and/or your graduate plan to !participate in this special ceremony, !
