Your Contributions to God and Parish

7th Sunday of Easter “I am praying for them…” JOHN 17: 9

Prayer is the foundation of our Faith and the foundation of Stewardship. Pray in good times and in bad. Prayer is always the first best option in any situation, not just the last re-sort. Pray for friends and family and for those that don’t treat you very well. Pray to give praise, to thank and to ask God for help. Pray to see what God wants you to do with the gifts He has given you.

The Hail Mary To foster a greater devotion to our parish's patroness in this beautiful month dedicated to Mary, we will be praying the Hail Mary after the petitions at each Sunday Mass. While a simple prayer, it contains a depth that we can at first glance overlook. As we begin the second half of the prayer, we say, Holy Mary, Moth-er of God. In these words, we state our firm belief in the truth of what the Archangel Gabriel and Elizabeth attest in the Gospel. Specifically, that Mary is holy, full of God’s graces and favors and that her womb carried the true God-man, Jesus. In that faith, we then ask for Mary to pray for us sinners. We humbly acknowledge that we are unwor-thy sinners and that we are in need of God’s help. Thus, we turn to Mary as the Mother of God and our mother for that help. We ask for that help now and at the hour of our death, where we pray Mary will attest that we are one of her children and ask the Lord to bring us into heaven. Corpus Christi Procession Please do not forget to mark your calendar to join us for the Corpus Christi procession on Sunday, June 11 at 3:15 starting from the church. There will be sandwiches and ice cream afterward. Deanery Anniversary Mass This annual Mass will be held on Sunday, June 4, with Mass at 4pm followed by dinner. It will be held at St. Ann Church in Clover Bot-tom. All couples celebrating 25, 50, or more years of marriage are invited to attend. Please contact Debbie in the parish office by Wednesday, May 31 if you would like to attend.

Roses for Life We would like to introduce this weekend a new program called Roses for Life. We will have in front of the Mary statue in church a white rose for each ex-pectant mother who requests one to be placed there. The re-quest may come from a parish-ioner or a relative of a parish-ioner. These roses will remind us to pray for life, especially for those mother’s who are expect-ing. When their child is born, the mother may receive this rose and keep it as a remembrance of these prayers. If you would like to have a rose placed at the stat-ue of Mary, please call Mary Boschert at (636) 456-3374. Life in the Spirit Enrichment Join our Deacons as we continue to journey deeper in the Holy Spirit on Sunday, June 11 at 6:00pm in the Library. There is a short presentation, time for a discussion, and time for prayer as well. All are welcome!

A Prayer for Memorial Day God of power and mercy, you destroy war and put down earthly pride. Banish violence from our midst and wipe away our tears, that we may all deserve to be called your sons and daughters. Keep in your mercy those men and women who have died in the cause of freedom and bring them safely into your kingdom of justice and peace. We ask this though Jesus Christ our Lord. R/. Amen We are deeply grateful for all who have served our country, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us. We will be honoring Memorial Day as a parish on Monday, May 29 at 9:00am (please note time change). Calendar of Upcoming Events
