For the active visitor, the park has thousands of miles of trails from day hikes to backcountry explorations. The main attractions are all located on the grand loop road and here are some of the top reasons to visit the park.

“Perhaps the greatest asset of Buffalo Bill’s home town of Cody is the continuation of the spirit of individual accomplishment, western hospitality, honesty, and friendliness of the citizens. The spirit that was instilled in the early settlers by the “Old Scout” still prevails and is manifested today on the streets and in the homes of Cody Country people.”
- Park County Travel
Cody, named for its legendary founder, Buffalo Bill Cody, remains as full of Old West adventure as it was during the days when Bill himself roamed Wyoming. Serving as the Eastern gateway to Yellowstone National Park, Cody is just a few miles away from pristine wilderness where actual buffalo can still be seen. The town attracts tourists and cowboys alike with re-enactments of famous shoot-outs, restored frontier buildings and the Cody Stampede, which the town hosts every July 4. For the outdoor enthusiast fishing, hunting, hiking, photography, and trail riding are just a few of the local pastimes. Cody is still one of those places where neighbors are neighbors, your word is your word and a hand shake is still a hand shake.

The Ranch would not be complete without a 4 stall horse barn, calving barn and a corral system for gathering them all up. The horse barn has a tack area, bonus area and a bathroom. The calving barn has stalls, workshop area, a small studio and living quarters for those long nights calving, if that is your passion.
