MÜNZING is a highly regarded, privately owned specialty

additive company with headquarters in Abstatt, Germany.

We have a presence in over 40 countries and are a tech-

nology driven organization with an extensive staff of

highly experienced R&D and technical service person-

nel in Europe, the Americas and Asia. Our manufacturing

plants in Germany and USA have broad synthesis and

formulation capabilities in order to best serve our glob-

al customer base.

We are committed to creating value and improving our

customers’ formulations with our complete range of

specialty additives. These additives, which include

Can coatings are high end coatings, which have a deco-

rative as well as a protective aspect. They have to fulfil

numerous requirements such as: Sterilization and che-

mical resistance, excellent adhesion on ferrous and non

ferrous metal, outstanding flexibility as well as impro-

vement of the corrosion protection of the metal. At the

same time, can coatings are applied in the inside of a

metal container to protect the content of the can as well

as to ensure a long product life cycle, because they are

exposed to our daily food.

Due to increasing production line speed, the external

can coating needs to provide excellent slip and abrasi-

on resistance to achieve high application volumes.

These various aspects need to be considered

when suggesting a suitable product for each

requirement – the MÜNZING product range will

always offer the best suited product for your

individual application.

Can & Coil Coating Additives

d efoamers, dispersants, rheology modifiers, emulsifiers ,

wetting and leveling agents, micronized and coated

waxes as well as wax dispersions and emulsions, have

achieved worldwide recognition for their performance,

quality and technical innovation.

The technical mission of MÜNZING is to solve coatings

formulation problems. We offer state-of-the-art techni-

cal service testing to all customers. Based on our broad

range of additive chemistries, MÜNZING’s technical ser-

vice work provides our paints and coatings customers

the optimum solutions with respect to both technical

performance and value.

WAX PROPERTIES

COATED WAX PROPERTIES

Micronized waxesCERETAN spherical micronized waxes are easy to handle

in water based formulations. The spherical particle

shape, as well as the narrow particle size distribution

facilitate the incorporation process. Moreover, the

influence on rheology of the final product is minimized.

CERETAN spherical micronized waxes offer 100% active

content leading to a reduction of the amount of wax in

the formulation, due to its narrow particle size distribu-

tion. We guarantee a D99 value, which almost completely

avoids oversized particles. The spherical particle shape

offers a much smoother surface, improves the disper-

sing properties and reduces the gener ation of dust du-

ring the incorporation process.

* = Melting point

Coated waxesOur latest technology enables us to coat our spherical

micronized waxes! Coating the surface with special

solid materials offers additional benefits. Currently

we offer a PTFE coated wax for excellent scratch resist-

ance. You do not need to purchase additional and

expensive additives – we can offer almost everything

from a single source.

CERETAN – Spherical micronized waxesOur spherical micronized waxes provide numerous advantages compared to traditional air milled waxes.

Air milled waxes Spray micronized waxes

The sphere makes the difference.

CERETAN coated waxes combine the advantages of

spherical micronized waxes with those of the respective

coating material. The coating is homogeneously distri-

buted on the surface of the wax particle. We can offer

combined benefits of two materials in a single product.
