News From the Principals Book Fair: Ms. Mosby will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair in the Davis Media Center next week, December 7-11. Fine Arts and P.E. Student Showcase: Please stop by December 8th between 4:00-6:00pp.m. to see our students’ special talents. Times of each performance/event are listed on the flyer found on page 3 of this newsletter. Holiday Gift of Time: Please read the attached letter PTA is partnering with the Davis administration to offer teachers a “Gift of Time” on December 18. We would like, with your support, to send all students to the B & B Theatre to watch, “ Alvin and the Chip-munks, The Road to Chip.” The cost per student is $5.00. In addition, we are asking for students to bring a sack lunch to school this day to be eaten upon our return. Your child’s teachers spend a great deal of personal time tutoring, grading papers, preparing lesson plans and attending professional learning opportunities. We would like to show our appreciation for their dedication and hard work and allow them an opportunity to get “caught up and ahead” prior to the Holiday Break. A permission slip is attached to page 2 and may be handed to PTA at the elevator in the morning. Checks may be made payable to Davis PTA. News from PTA Teacher Appreciation: Calling all bakers and treat makers! The PTA will be hosting a Cookie Exchange for the Davis Staff on December 11. If you love to make cookies, bars or snack mixes for the holidays please consider making extra and donating to our exchange. We know it's a busy time of year and want to do something extra special for the entire staff. We will be taking donations of homemade goodies to be delivered by 10 am, Fri-day, December 11th in the school office. Thanks for your help! Parent’s Day Out: Take a break and go shopping, take a break and go out to lunch, just take a break! PTA is hosting a Parent’s Day Out on Saturday, December 12 from 11-3pm. Students must be in kindergarten or above. Cost is $20 and includes pizza, crafts and play time. (flyer attached)

Gift of Time

School Wide Field Trip to B & B Theatre

November 20, 2015

Dear Parents,

With the holiday season approaching, PTA would like to provide Davis Intermediate School teachers with a “Gift of Time” to show appreciation for all of the extra time and support they give our students. Arrange-ments have been made for Davis students to travel by WISD buses to the B & B Theatre in Wylie to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Road Chip on December 18, 2015. The campus administration, paraprofession-als and PTA volunteers will be chaperoning this event. Teachers will remain on campus to engage in work related activities.

Our plan is for grade 5 to leave Davis Intermediate School at approximately 9:00a.m. and return around 11:30a.m. and grade 6 to leave at 9:30a.m. and return by 12:00p.m. We are requesting $5.00 to help offset the cost of the movie and transportation. Please send cash or checks made payable to Davis PTA. In addi-tion, we ask that you send your child with a sack lunch to be eaten upon our return.
