Motivational and Informative Session by Divanshu Kumar Divanshu Kumar is a graduate from IIT Madras, who is also the founder and CEO of INVOLVE, an

international award-winning organization that makes students Future-Ready by developing their experiential

skills and improving their academics using peer technology.

Mr Kumar started off by asking students a couple of questions about the working of JEE MAINS and JEE

ADVANCED and gave a quick introduction about himself and

his background, and a vague idea about why he was here.

Shortly after, Mr. Kumar went into the details on how to crack

one of the most difficult writing exams students will have to

face in life and he very distinctly specified the difference

between School‟s board exams, JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.

Mr. Kumar also gave tips on how to deal with stress and gave

glimpses of his life as an example, which were truly relatable

and inspiring. He also told how important board exams and

regularity to school was. School teaches the concepts,

strengthen the concepts. Advanced JEE requires concepts. Only

if the concepts are strong, advanced main can be cleared. The only Mantra is Focus & Practice. He answered to

all of them like he was prepared for these questions and replies were to the point. His insights and ideas are

sure to become one of the bricks that humanity can stand upon in the near future.

Teacher of the Month Every month, during the first department meeting, the teachers will choose a teacher for the Month from their

department and write positive remarks about the teacher. The write up along with the photograph of the teacher

is put up at the landing board at the entrance in the ground floor for a month for the students and other staff to

read. This initiative has been welcomed by all the staff as it motivates them and they also get to know their

strengths.

Knowledge Sharing and Micro Teaching When teachers come together with their peers to solve problems, share best practices, and exchange helpful

resources, students reap the benefits. HOD‟s plan this session during every department meeting, where one

teacher plans and presents information on the subject for 10 to 15 minutes. The knowledge sharing normally is

done by demonstration, activity or with the help of Technology. A teacher training and faculty development

technique whereby the teacher reviews her a teaching session, based on one skill in order to get constructive

feedback from peers about what has worked and what

improvements can be made to their teaching technique.

Team Building Activity

On teachers Day, team building games were organized for the

teachers to understand the importance of team work and

coordination. After lunch the teachers assembled in the ground and

every department played the activity of balancing balloons between

each other and walking without breaking the line and bursting the

balloon. It was not just fun but a great learning.

THE SAGA UNFOLDS- Annual Day 2019 The Annual Day programme portrayed a panoramic sweep of the history of humankind. It was a gripping

narrative flow of the beginning of civilization and an

enduring classic of the past, present and the future and a

dazzling testimony of how we honour the past treasure the

present and shape the future. The entire programme was

divided into six distinct phases – Reminiscence, Royalty

Reign, Renaissance, Road to Silk, Recent Times and

Reshaping the world. The first phase was the Reminiscence

which depicted the early periods of human history which

dates back to 7000 years. It included a skit on the life of

„The Early Man‟ and a tribal dance.

The second phase – „Royalty Reigns,‟ depicted the history of the River

valley Civilization and shed light on the earliest of kings and queens who

have graced the historical records.

The third phase of the annual day programme was „The Renaissance‟

which displayed the fervent period of European cultural, artistic, political

and economic rebirth following the Middle Ages.

The show then moved on to the fourth phase of „The Saga Unfolds‟ –

The Silk Route. And then progressed into the fifth phase- recent times

which began with a „military‟ dance presenting the race for armaments

during the world wars that made the nations of the world focus on empowering their military base. The last

chapter of the show was – Reshaping the future. The annual day finally concluded with a song Heal the world

which highlighted the birth of a new world called „Paradise‟ where no one can feel any pain, fear or sadness.

the shackles towards a free and open mind. She thanked the entire

COMMON EVENTS- PEY

Eric Carl’s Birthday and Disney Day The preparation for these two events started from mid June. All the

teachers prepared mobiles based on the Disney Theme and did art and

craft work that was displayed all over the school on the various floors

and on the terrace for the celebration. Through the month the children

saw movies and heard songs on the theme „Disneyland‟. On the day

of the celebration, the parents dressed their child as one Disney

character and our mascot for the day was „Mickey Mouse‟, our very

own teacher - Ms

Pratibha. She welcomed

each student and shook

hands with everyone. The children were surprised and amused to

shake hands and give a high five to “Mickey”.

Books authored by Eric Carle were read to the children and related

group- art and craft activities were done before the 25th

of June.

The children loved his stories especially the famous story on „The

Hungry Caterpillar. Both the celebrations culminated with fun and

frolic and dancing on the terrace . Every child got a piece of a cake

to commemorate Eric Carle‟s Birthday.

Dance your way away All the children at Presidency Early Years had a good time swaying

away with their friends and teachers to their favourite tunes. They 'let

their hair loose', chose their props and enjoyed dancing. Some children

even gave „solo performances' and the others followed their moves.

Overall it was a fun day and a great way to expel their energy.

Cookie Day /Baking is Fun Through the week the Kindergarten children enjoyed making cookies and decorating them; some sections made

desserts out of baked products. Our parents sent generous portions of

baked products, cookies and other ingredients and the children

dressed as chefs along with their teachers had the event on the

terrace. Some sections pretended they were in a bakery selling baked,

decorated cookies and desserts. It was very interesting to see how the

children picked up vocabulary related to baking and baked products.

The teachers brought in interesting yummy recipes and the children

were very enthusiastic to make cookies and desserts. They enjoyed

eating these tasty delights and sharing the end product with the other

classes and visitors

Onam Celebration The teachers wore the traditional attire that all wear during the festival of

Onam. The school wore a festive look with the pookolum decoration

specially designed by our helper and assisted by Ms Mary and Ms Sarita.

The day started with the lighting of the lamp. The children were told

stories related to the festival and they all loved the decorations. We had a

surprise in store for us as Ms. Nafeesa (Director- Presidency group of

Institutions) and her son Rayan visited PEY and joined in the

celebrations.

‘Movie Marathon Day’ The kindergarten children enjoyed the Movie Marathon. The teachers

chose movies that all the children would enjoy to watch. They

converted the viewing area into a „movie theatre‟. The children had
