The occasion was graced by Mohammad Al Shuaibi, CEO, Hemant Agar- wal, CFO, Mrs Anju Dheman, Principal and the members of the staff. It was indeed a proud moment when nearly 200 stu- dents were presented with scholar badges and a certifi- cate, acknowledging their meritorious academic perfor- mance. About 20 outgoing students, both from the CBSE and IGCSE curricula were awarded cash prizes as a recognition of their mettle. Razor sharp brains an- swering tough, out of the blues questions in fem- toseconds before anyone could even get a feel of the question. The Quiz enthusiasts of all ages and diverse fields and talents living in Kuwait, will be contending for the top place in The-Quiz Competition of Kuwait, titled “Q8 Open Quiz - 2016”. It is the toughest, best, entertaining and above all very fiercely fought annual signature quiz event of the prestigious IIT-IIM Alumni Association, Kuwait. The Quiz Contest is scheduled on Friday, the 18th November, 2016 at the majestic Indian Embassy Auditorium. It is being hosted by the highly acclaimed, very en- tertaining, and world renowned master quizzer, Giri Balasubramaniam, popularly knows as “Pickbrain”. Giri is known for his distinctive techno savvy style of quizzing, sense of humor coupled with great flair and approachable easy nature, which has earned him several accolades. He holds sev- en Limca records for quizzing achievements and has hosted more than 1,250 shows in 65 destina- tions across India. He has also hosted many quiz shows in USA, Srilanka, Singapore, London and in the Middle East Region. Tata Crucible Busi- ness Quiz for Colleges & Corporates, TCS IT WIZ quiz for Schools, Reserve Bank of India IQ quiz, Times of Oman Quiz are some of the most popular shows hosted by Giri. This third annual quiz, a very popular and unique event, is open for all, irrespective of age, nationality, profession and educational qualifica- tions. This year, it has surpassed all the expecta- tions of competition, as more than 200 teams from over 20 schools and many other individual groups of quizzers from all walks of life includ- ing corporates, organizations, associations and individual groups are contending for the coveted honor of being the best among the finest. AASBCO lauds all the 127 participants and their parents for the genuine interest that they have evinced in the event. The registration process started at 1.30 pm. General Secretary Thomas Scaria commenced the programme at 2:30 pm with a silent prayer. President Shibu Pal- lickal welcomed the gathering and delivered the Presi- dential Address. Former president Kurien Varghese conducted the Judges Selection and Topic Selection of each category of competition. The former president and current Vice-President Thomas Varghese ex- plained the rules of the extempore speech competition to the participants. General Secretary Thomas Scaria proposed the vote of thanks. The competition was conducted in 5 categories. The performance of each category was simply superb. After an incredibly exciting competition, Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan enjoyed sweet victory having bagged the Championship Trophy for the fifth consecutive year. FAIPS — DPS Ahmadi emerged runner-up following the champions most narrowly by just one point.
