W O W ! (Worship on Wednesdays!) BEGINS OCTOBER 2nd!

♦ New Member Class begins at 4 pm. Led by Pastor Sheets.

♦ Join us for a Fellowship Dinner from 5-6 pm. Delicious

home-cooked meals such as baked chicken, beef stroganoff, spaghe night, potato bar, soup night, etc. Menu chang-es each week. Cost: Adults-$6. Children 10-under: $3. Pizza will also be available. All prices include salad bar, dessert and drink.

♦ Family Confirma on begins at 5 pm. For parents and youth in 7th & 8th grade. If you are older and would like to be confirmed, please talk with Pastor Sheets!

♦ Preschool—Adult Bible study from 6:15-7:15 pm. We will be using CPH’s new curriculum called “Enduring Faith.”

♦ Youth (ages 6th grade and up) will meet for “Pulse” a er Bible study un l 8:30 pm.

♦ Phoebe Circle will meet 7:30-8:30 pm. (All ladies of the church are welcome at Phoebe Circle. We will be star ng a new study on the book of Titus. Nursery will be open during this me.)

• Choir Warm-Up– 8:40 am • Adult Bible Class– 9 am (Led by either Pastor Sheets or Paul Henze • Possibility of Children’s age classes! Let us know if you are interested!

• Orchestra Practice– 9 am • Traditional Service- 10 am • Kingdom Kids (ages prek4-5th grade)– 10 am*

*For parents of children who attend Traditional Service: At GSLC, we be‐lieve that family worship is an essential part of your child’s growing faith and spiritual life. We welcome your children to join us at Kingdom Kids for a children’s sermon during Pastor’s sermon time. After the sermon, they will be released to enjoy the rest of the worship service with their families.

• Youth Bible Class (6th grade and up)- 10 am • Adult Bible Class– 10 am (Led by either Jeff Stutz or Kevin Skidmore) • Contemporary Service– 11:15 am

(There will no longer be “children’s church” during this service. We encour‐age parents to bring their children to Kingdom Kids or WOW.)

REACHING OUT TO HELP IN THE WAKE OF HURRICANE DORIAN

After many days lingering over the Bahamas and skirting numerous cities along the east coast, Hurricane Dorian left a path of destruction impacting many in both the Florida-Georgia and Southeastern LCMS Districts. As recovery efforts continue, we know that ministries and indi-viduals in the Mid-South District are seeking effective ways to share their support.

The following options are available to directly assist in the relief effort:

ONLINE GIFTS to IMPACTED DISTRICTS: Both the Florida-Georgia (includes the Bahamas) and Southeastern

Districts are receiving donations online for their respective disaster re-sponse efforts.

GIFTS to THE MID-SOUTH DISTRICT:

• Church Organist/Pianist for New Beginnings United Methodist Church in San Bernardino, CA: August, 2018-June 9,2019

Education/Certification/Performance: • Walla Walla University, College Place, WA— studied 2+ years of Pi-

ano Performance and taught piano, as well. (1976-1978) • California State University of San Bernardino—BA in Psychology

with a Music Minor—graduated December, 2012 • 1985-1999—was pianist for a trio called "Praise Three" consisting of

flute, violin, and keyboard. We performed throughout the Northwest, and I did most of the arranging of our music.

• Piano Studio: 1979-1998—20-35 students per week; 2010-2019—10+ students per week.

• Licensed Kindermusik Educator: 1989-present. Held Maestro status (top 5%of all Kindermusik Programs) 2002-present. Spent 10 years in Texas and had 150+ students all those years. Recently sold my pro-gram in Redlands, CA with 65 students, and I am in the process of set-ting up a new program here in the Ooltewah area.
