Honored Hero: FRANKIE
Frankie’s Story:
Frankie was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at the age of 3. After two and a half
years of intense chemotherapy and enduring the loss of vision in his right eye, Frankie is finally in
remission.
Fun Facts about Frankie:
1. Favorite subject in school: Reading
2. Favorite book: The Harry Potter Series
3. Favorite sport: Karate
4. Favorite TV show: Back to the Future
5. Favorite hobby: Having Nerf-Gun wars with friends
6. What Frankie wants to be when he grows up: Video Game Designer
7. Number of siblings: 1 Younger Brother

Honored Hero: MARTEZ
Martez’s Story:
When he was just one year old, Martez was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). His treatment
began immediately after diagnosis. After 39 months of radiation, numerous spinal taps, and 2 eye surgeries,
Martez is now in remission! Today, he is just like any other 6th grader.
Fun Facts about Martez:
1. Favorite subject in school: Language Arts
2. Favorite movie: Transformers
3. Favorite food: Pizza
4. Favorite sports: Dance and Football
5. Favorite vacation spot: Disney World, FL
6. Number of siblings: 2 (1 Brother and 1 Sister)
7. What Martez wants to be when he grows up: an Architect

Maya’s Story:
Maya was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at the
age of 11. After 27 months of chemotherapy, numerous spinal taps,
4 bone marrow aspirations, and countless other procedures, Maya
is finally in remission.
Fun Facts about Maya:
1. Favorite subject in school: Math
2. Favorite food: Lobster
3. Favorite TV show: Pretty Little Liars
4. Favorite vacation spot: Disney World, FL
5. What Maya wants to be when she grows up: a Pediatric Oncology Nurse Practitioner
6. Favorite musical artist: Lana Del Rey
7. Favorite movie: Silver Linings Playbook

Honored Hero: PIPER
Piper’s Story:
Piper was two and a half years old when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). As
treatment began, 99 percent of Piper’s blood cells were cancerous, which categorized her as high-risk and
required an intensive treatment protocol. To protect her weakened immune system, she and her family spent
much of their time in the hospital. After more than 700 doses of chemotherapy, 28 spinal taps, four surgeries
and numerous hospital visits, Piper finished treatment in September 2012!

3. Favorite food: Steak
4. Favorite card game: UNO
5. Number of Siblings: 2 Younger Brothers
