A Touch of HOPE Event ...

We have successfully completed several hundred Spay/ Neuters and

Vaccinated 1000 ’ s of Stray dogs and cats in the Negombo area working

with our partners Tapa Sri Lanka and Dogstar Foundation.

Our program working for the local community to build respect between

people and animals offers FREE Medical Treatments for their pets,

Vaccinations and Spay/ Neuter to help families that cannot afford medical

care for their animals

Netting Dogs ...

The Mobile Hospital is located in a central location in each area it visits. The

Mobile Ambulance travels with the Tapa Team to locate dogs that need to

be Spay/ Neutered and Vaccinated against Rabies. The Dogs are caught in

a large butterfly net which is safe for the handler and the dog. The net also

provides a security feeling for the dog while being transported back to the

Mobile Hospital to be prepared for surgery. Each dog is returned exactly to

the same location several hours later after a full recovery from the operation.

Precious Journey of HOPE

Precious arrived to The Hope Foundation on 24th March 2014. She was in a very bad situation

found in the Colombo suburbs after a road accident. Her wounds were old and could not walk.

She had dragged her legs on the ground for a long period of time and the wounds were large,

open, infected, rotten, and all the bones were visible. Her body was frail, thin and when she

arrived questions were asked whether she had any standard of life in the future. Precious has a

fanatic strong spirit and personality and became clear very quickly that she was ready for a fight

and wanted to recover with medical treatment and love and she would inspire everyone who

came into contact with her due to her lovely character. Precious has now been fitted with Cart

Wheels and spends several hours each day playing with the other dogs in the sanctuary, she en-

joys regular beach walks and also swims in the sea for physiotherapy

Treatments. She needs allot of Special One to One Medical Care.

PLEASE SPONSOR Precious she needs YOUR HELP.

A Gift of LOVE ...

Why not send a Gift of LOVE to someone special and receive monthly updates on your

Sponsored HOPE Dog. Bring HAPPINESS into your life and help a Street Dog in need.

To Sponsor a HOPE Dog or Cat it only costs 30 USD each month and you can follow their

Journey of HOPE . It is very difficult to Re-home adult and special needs dogs so if we failed

to keep them in OUR care they would die an unpleasant death on the streets not able to care

for themselves. Every dog or cat in OUR care has a story to tell and have been rescued in

very bad situations and given another chance. What a special present for someone you love

or in memory of a loved one passed or beloved pet passed. Please go to OUR Face Book or

web site to see all our Hope babies looking for love xx

Dukes Journey of HOPE ...

Duke was rescued close to The Hope Foundation Re – Homing Center in July of 2014 , starving

with a very serious skin condition and many open infested wounds over his body. He was limping

in pain. He is around 10 years old. If its old and damaged does not mean there is not a quality of

life in his retirement. So he has settled in as a permanent resident enjoying his later years with

lots of lovely food and excellent medical care and most important lots of LOVE and cuddles . Can

you HELP SPONSOR Duke ?

One to ONE Special Needs

We currently have 12 dogs in Special Needs at The Hope Foundation. They ALL need

special medical treatments, one to one special love and care, rehabilitation and therapy

treatments. This ALL costs time and money and we need the HELP of YOU to sponsor

these Special Babies to allow us to make OUR Magic and save their lives and give them

happiness. Most Special Needs dogs and cats will find it difficult to find loving homes so

we are taking responsibility at The Hope Foundation for the entire life of some of these

special cases. Please go to OUR web site or Face Book page and select a Gift of

STOP Breeding Posh POOches ...

A huge problem ALL animal welfare organizations are facing in Sri Lanka

are puppy breeders and puppy farms. The poor animals face very bad

conditions and most never live more than 8 weeks. Sometimes we are

forced to save a Posh Pooch from a road side seller as they would simply

die if left. We SUPPORT 100 % STRAY as OUR Recommended breed !!

STOP BUYING PUPPIES from unauthorized registered breeders.

My Name is HOPE ...

Why are we called the Hope Foundation ? The Hope Foundation was

established in October 2003 when the owner of Lords Restaurant Complex

was constructing the building and came across a stray mother dog hiding

under some wood with her 4 puppies. All were very sick as the mother was

not strong enough to feed them. We decided to give them all a home and

called the mother dog HOPE, this gave us the encouragement and

inspiration to start The Hope Foundation.
