Staff Spotlight

Judy Woletz Faith Community Nurse

After 9 years at Hope Judy has decided to retire on June 1st. She will be missed!!!! Judy moved to The Villages in 2008 from Wisconsin. I asked her what she plans to do with her free time and she said:

“Whatever God has planned for me to do. He’s in charge. I am not going anywhere.”

If you had your blood pressure checked every month you probably know her well. Or if you participated in Chair Aerobics, Chair Yoga or Chair Fitness, she was your teacher. If you needed respite care for a loved one—you knew her. She was responsible for starting many health-related programs here at Hope. Thank You Judy! Judy hopes that the exercise programs will continue—but we are in need of a volunteer to lead these classes. Most classes are done via a DVD. If you would be willing to volunteer for this ministry, please contact Sara at the church office (750-2321).

Walk to Emmaus Spiritual Renewal Weekend

If you haven’t attended an Emmaus spiritual retreat weekend, we encourage you to sign up now. You will find application forms in the narthex outside the worship area. They are in a clipboard on the wall. A registration fee of $95.00 should accompany your application. The men’s weekend is October 5-8. The women’s weekend is October 12-15. The weekends are held at The Warren Willis Camp in Fruitland Park. Walk to Emmaus is a 72 hour short course in practical Christianity. The course is wrapped in prayer and meditation with special times of worship and daily celebration of Holy Communion. Many men and women from Hope have attended and each one would witness to the profound impact these weekends have had on their lives. If you have any questions, talk to Chuck Walter or Pastor Jon-Marc.

Jesus’ came to heal the ills and fears that paralyze us. The Rite of Healing addresses this when we pray for Jesus to “make us whole in body, mind and spirit.” Sometimes periods of exceptional brokenness in our lives require extra healing. That is what a Stephen Minister is for. Through listening and bringing hope, Stephen Ministers bring wholeness. For more information call Steve Betts at (319) 240-2493.
