A PERSONAL WORD

What if there was a place you could go — in your moment of urgent need — and get support through prayer?

There is.

It’s called “ThePrayerZone” — it’s our bold effort to impact this generation in yet another powerful way: through prayer.

Teens and young adults can post their prayer requests — and prayer champions like you can post your heartfelt prayers in response.

Here’s how it works:

A Prayer Requester posts a prayer need.

A Prayer Champion posts a prayer on the young person’s behalf.

The Prayer Requester is notified via e-mail that a Champion has posted a prayer for them. He or she can return to the site, read the prayer, and be encouraged by the support.

Champions are notified by e-mail when a Prayer Requester provides an update. This enables the Prayer Champion to stay engaged and continue praying.

We would love to see every posted request receive multiple prayers in response.

If you have a heart for this generation and want to get involved through the power of prayer, please visit www.theprayerzone.com and click on “Sign Up” to be a Prayer Champion.

Thank you for standing with us in this high-impact way.

Please pray for me, I can’t think clearly …”

Please pray for me, I am SO depressed, I can’t get through my day …

I messed up. Big time. And I’m not sure how to make things right. I need prayer …

Will someone please pray for me? I don’t know if God hears me, if He’s really there …

Help me. My friend committed suicide …

There’s a quote from the late, great preacher Charles Haddon Spurgeon that I love.

“If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for.”

It’s really what our ministry is all about. It’s what we do together every day. We stand in the gap for America’s lost and hurting youth. We wrap our arms about their knees and hold on tight ... lest any should perish. We warn them. Love them. Pray for them. And by the grace of Almighty God, we save them.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: This isn’t easy work. A mission field of teenagers and young adults is daunting. Their issues are heartbreaking. But the Lord has called us and equipped us to be there for them: a last measure of defense standing between the lost and eternity. Heaven or Hell.

I couldn’t ask for a better partner in this work than you! And I pray that you’ll continue to stand with me, for America’s young people, throughout the summer months. Eternity is at stake.

Your friend,

Dawson McAllister

I found TheHopeLine as a suicidal sophomore in high school. By the grace of God, you gave me the will and hope to talk to my mom about my depression. A year or so later, I was diagnosed and medicated. As I began to find healing and stability, I realized I was in a dangerous and abusive relationship — and finally had the courage and strength to get out.

The truth is, if it wasn’t for you guys, I never would have gotten to the point where my life could get better. I wouldn’t have a supportive spouse or my beautiful baby girl.

Today, she is one month old, and to celebrate her precious new life … and mine … all I want to say is thank you. Thank you for everything you do every day, and everything you did for me.
