Shire website at Footpaths and the Pedestrian Access Strategy - Mornington Peninsula Shire (mornpen.vic.gov.au). Hotham Road, Franklin Road and Darling Road are all managed by the Shire and classified as arterial, collector and local roads, respectively. Hotham Road and Franklin Road have been identified as intertown ship links under the Principal Pedestrian Network (PPN) and therefore rank highly on the PPN. A footpath along Hotham road is ranked within the top 10% of priorities and designs are currently being developed for this path. It is also worth noting, the Shire is applying to reduce the speed limit along Hotham Road to 60km/h. Although this change is subject to Department of Transport approval we expect a lower speed will largely assist in reducing the risk to drivers and pedestrians using Hotham Road as an interim measure before a footpath can be fully constructed. Franklin Road has been identified as a priority on the PPN for future consideration, however Darling Road has not been identified on the PPN. Unfortunately, at this time, paths not identified on the PPN are not being considered for construction. Thank you for your participation in the Council’s budget process. If you require any further information regarding the above, please contact Carolyn Lindsey on 5950 1000. Yours faithfully Bulent Oz Chief Financial Officer Ref: 22s223-01CW
