Hops is simplifying Hadoop through a new scalable, highly available, customizable metadata architecture. It allows organizations to host multiple sensitive datasets on the same cluster, providing dynamic role-based access control for both Hadoop distributed file systems and Kafka distributed streaming platforms. Hops will provide the first truly multi-tenant, elastic Hadoop distribution service with unified batch and streaming. HopsWorks is developing Hops (Hadoop Open Platform- as-a-Service), an easy-to- use distribution of Apache Hadoop open-source software framework made for everybody, not only for data engineers. HopsWorks

Hadoop is a complex open-source software framework that provides massive storage for all kinds of data, enormous processing power and the ability to handle vast numbers of concurrent tasks or jobs.

Hops is simplifying Hadoop through a new scalable, highly available, customizable metadata architecture. It allows organizations to host multiple sensitive

datasets on the same cluster, providing dynamic role-based access control for both Hadoop distributed file systems and Kafka distributed streaming platforms.

Hops will provide the first truly multi-tenant, elastic Hadoop distribution service with unified batch and streaming.
