32 HEATHFIELD & DISTRICT AGRICULTURAL SHOW SCHEDULE 2018 HORSE APPENDIX B TO THE RULES OF THE SOCIETY RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY IN HORSE EVENTS In the event of Show cancellation fees will be refunded less 10% to cover administration costs. 1. It is the responsibility of exhibitors to insure all property and livestock which is brought on to the Showground and which is his/ her own, or for which he/she is responsible. The Society requires exhibitors to effect Employers Liability insurance where this is required by statute. The Society also requires exhibitors to effect Public Liability insurance and Products Liability insurance. The Society therefore requires that all exhibitors ensure that they have the appropriate insurance cover for showing purposes. 2. All entries must be accompanied by the correct remittance. 3. Entries are received on condition that the Society accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage or accident etc., which may be sustained to vehicles, horses, persons or any property whatsoever. 4. Late entries will NOT be accepted. Closing date for entries is 16 April 2018 5. Should insufficient entries be received for any one class, the Society reserves the right to combine two or more classes forward on Show day. 6. The Society reserves the right to disqualify or refuse the entry of any exhibitor for any reason they may deem fit. 7. No substitute entries are allowed unless accompanied by a vet’s certificate and details of the substituted animal are given to the Horse Secretary at least one hour before the relevant class. 8. Forfeiture of Fees. Failure to exhibit any animal entered will entail forfeiture of entry fees and no refund will be made in any circumstances. 10. Objections or any matter involving the judging of a class shall be submitted in writing to the Show Secretary within 60 minutes of the judging of the event being completed, accompanied by a deposit of £25.00, non-returnable, if the objection is overruled. Any objection will be considered by the Show Secretary with two members of the relevant Show Committee. 11. Rapping in the collecting ring or anywhere on or in the vicinity of the Showground is strictly prohibited. 10. Riders must keep to the Official Exercising Grounds and must use the Horse Walks for access to all rings on the Showground. 11. Cob and Riding Horse classes will be judged under the rules and jurisdiction of the British Show Horse Association. 12. Animals entered in the Ridden Hunter classes may not also be entered in the Cob or Riding Horse classes. 13. NPS Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible for Mountain & Moorland Classes. To compete in Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony classes ponies must be registered in the NPS British Rid- ing Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part-Breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members but only ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern from 31st July -2nd August 2018 The highest placed pony, if owned by an NPS member, in each class will qualify for the final. Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified. NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship - Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These ponies, if owned by NPS members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. The Owner’s Membership cards MUST be produced in the ring when requested or the qualification will be forfeit. Affiliation number S20.076 14. Ponies Association (UK). Ponies (UK) Summer Showing Championships. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each qualifying class will quality. No qualification cards will be awarded in the ring, placings will be confirmed by results sent in by the Show 15. Veteran classes are being held in association with Senior Showing & Dressage Ltd. Please note all exhibitors should acquaint themselves with the rules of the SSAD Ltd. www.seniorshowinganddressage.co.uk. Qualification cards will be handed out in the ring at the time of presentation. 16. The Shetland Stud-Book Society classes must be registered ponies and named on the entry form. Society rosettes will only be given to society registered ponies or eligible for registration i.e. foals. Three year old fillies with foals at foot must not be shown. All foals must be a minimum of three weeks old on day of show. There must be no colts or entire males in Young Handler classes. Children under 14yrs old may not show colts (excluding foals) or entire males in In- hand classes. In the interests of safety, hard hats must be worn by all handlers aged 14yrs or under in In-hand classes. Exhibitors should not kneel but remain standing while in the ring. 17. The Sunshine Tour is a fun and exciting National Championship Series for unaffiliated and amateur competitors of all ages and abilities. The Championships are held on the at The All England Showground at Hickstead from Thursday 13th – Sunday 16th September 2018.

23. Theuseofmobilephonesisnotpermittedwithinjudgingrings.24. IntheeventofaseriousinjurytoananimalandontherecommendationoftheShowVeterinaryOfficerthattheanimal

beslaughteredalleffortswillbemadetocontacttheanimal’sownerforconsenttoslaughter.Iftheownercannotbefoundwithinareasonableperiodoftime,apoliceofficerwillbeaskedtoprovideawrittenauthoritytotheslaughteroftheanimalasempoweredunderSection11oftheProtectionofAnimalsAct1911.

25. Vaccination:ItisrequiredthatallhorsesandponiesenteringtheShowgroundarevaccinatedandtheexhibitormustbeabletoproduceavaccinationcertificate,whichundeniablyrelatestothatanimal,completed,signedandstampedbyaveterinarysurgeon,whoisnottheowneroftheanimal,statingthatithasreceivedtwoinjectionsforprimaryvaccinationagainstEquineInfluenzagivennotlessthan21daysandnomorethan92daysapart.Inadditionaboosterinjectionmustberecordedashavingbeengivenwithineachsucceedingtwelvemonths.Noneoftheseinjectionsmusthavebeengivenwithintheprecedingsevendays,includingthedayoftheShow.Thisvaccinationcertificatemustaccompanythehorse/ponytotheShow.Spotcheckswillbecarriedout.

26. Allhorsesmustcomplywithcurrentlegislation.TherewillberandomchecksduringtheShowdayandHorsePass-portsmaybechecked.

27. Onceaclasshasstartedexhibitorswillonlybepermittedtoenterthejudgingringwiththeexpresspermissionofthejudge.

Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the Association and all owners, exhibitors and riders must be Association members. Riders to have attained their 15th birthday. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry form.

Classes 150, 151 & 152 are qualifiers for THE ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW 2018. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified the second will qualify, if the first and second are already qualified then the third will go forward.

Horses competing at the RIHS and qualifying shows in Hunter sections of The Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain at their Affiliated Shows cannot compete in Hack, Cobs and Riding Horse classes at the same show, on the same day and vice versa. This does not apply to SHB (GB) Ridden Sport Horse classes.

The three highest placed prize winners in all Open affiliated classes will qualify to compete in the BSHA Classic Supreme Classes at the National Championship Show 2018.

The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each Open class and a Champion rosette for each section (with the exception of Open Working Show Horse, Ladies Show Horse & HOYS Hunter classes).

The Association will award an Amateur Home Produced rosette in all Affiliated Open Cob (Light and Heavy weight only) classes. These rosettes have been kindly sponsored by TSG, Mr L Turley. The awards will go down the line; there is no limit on how many of these rosettes can be claimed in a year.

RIDDEN HUNTERSJudges: Ride – Mr R Mills, Rochford, Essex

This is a qualifying show for the ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW 2018. The two highest placed horses in the Lightweight, Middleweight and Heavyweight Hunter Classes will qualify to enter at the RIHS. No horse lower than second will qualify. All regulations applicable to HOYS qualifiers will apply also to RIHS qualifiers.

All entries in Classes 153 -156 & 162 must be on Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain 2018 Show Hunter Register. (Registration Numbers to be shown on Entry Forms and owners and riders must be full members of Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain).

Day ticket = £35 (this entitles competitors to compete at a maximum of 2 show’s in the year – it covers owner and rider membership together with horse registration for that show). If the class is a qualifying class for RIHS, in order for the qualification to be valid, application for full owner/rider membership and horse registration must be received in the SHB(GB) office within 14 days.

Judged under the 2018 Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain Rules.

Classes 154-156 will qualify for The PONIES (UK) WHITTAKERS LORD OPEN HUNTER of the YEAR, provided the riders have attained their 16th birthday by 1st January in the current year.

The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified in classes 154-156 will qualify for the Equifest Ridden Hunter Final to be held at the East of England Showground on the 8th-12th August 2018.

This show is a qualifier for the Blue Chip & Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) £2,000 Challenge. The highest placed horse (not already qualified) from each of the following Classes 153 to 156 that is registered or eligible for registration on the Irish Draught or Irish Draught Sport Horse Register, i.e. with a minimum of 25% proven Irish Draught breeding, will qualify for the Final of the Blue Chip & IDHS (GB) £2,000 Challenge. Horses need not be registered with the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) to qualify but must be on the IDHS (GB) Registers by the time of the Championship which will be held at the IDHS (GB) Annual Breed Show onon 18th – 19th August 2018 at Arena UK, Allington, Grantham, Lincolnshire. NG32 2EF. N.B: A horse may only qualify for the Final once, regardless of the type or number of classes won, placed in or entered. Each qualifier will receive a card and a £10 voucher from Blue Chip. Will immediately follow the Qualifiers are required to complete an online form at www.idhsgb.com to inform the IDHS (GB) that they are qualified for the Final. Following submission of the online form, a qualifier’s pack will be sent out direct to the qualifier. In the Final, the Champion will be awarded £1,000 prize money, a trophy and a Blue Chip rug. The Reserve Champion will be awarded £500 and 3rd to 7th inclusive will be awarded £100 each. In addition, the highest placed Pure Bred Irish Draught will receive a trophy and £100, the highest placed 158cm (15.2hh) and under will receive a trophy and £50, the highest placed Irish Draught Sport Horse will receive a trophy and £50 and the highest placed *Amateur Produced and Ridden Horse will receive a silver salver and a rug.

Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the Association and all Owners, Exhibitors and Riders must be Association Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Registration numbers must be quoted on the entry form.

Classes 182 & 183 are qualifiers for The Royal International Horse Show. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified the second will qualify, if the first and second are already qualified then the third will go forward.

Horses competing at the RIHS and qualifying shows in the Hunter section of The Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain at their affiliated shows cannot compete in Hack, Cobs or Riding Horse classes at the same show on the same day and vice versa. This does not apply to SHB (GB) Ridden Sport Horse classes.

The three highest placed prize winners in all Open Affiliated classes will qualify to compete in the BSHA Classic Supreme Classes at the National Championship Show September 2018.

The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each Open class and a Champion rosette for each section. This show is a qualifier for the Blue Chip & Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) £2,000 Challenge. The highest placed horse (not already qualified) from each of the following Classes 153 to 156 that is registered or eligible for registration on the Irish Draught or Irish Draught Sport Horse Register, i.e. with a minimum of 25% proven Irish Draught breeding, will qualify for the Final of the Blue Chip & IDHS (GB) £2,000 Challenge. Horses need not be registered with the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) to qualify but must be on the IDHS (GB) Registers by the time of the Championship which will be held at the IDHS (GB) Annual Breed Show on 18th – 19th August 2018 at Arena UK, Allington, Grantham Lincolnshire NG32 2EF. N.B: A horse may only qualify for the Final once, regardless of the type or number of classes won, placed in or entered. Each qualifier will receive a card and a £10 voucher from Blue Chip. Qualifiers are required to complete an online form at www.idhsgb.com to inform the IDHS (GB) that they are qualified for the Final. Following submission of the online form, a qualifier’s pack will be sent out direct to the qualifier. In the Final, the Champion will be awarded £1,000 prize money, a trophy and a Blue Chip rug.
