Introduction

Global Television Australia has been appointed Host Broadcaster of G20 Australia 2014. This rate card outlines services and facilities provided by the Host Broadcaster for media during the G20 Leaders Summit.

The G20 summit will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) on 15 and 16 November 2014. All host broadcast services and facilities will be located within the International Media Centre (IMC) located at the BCEC.

The items within this rate card are standard items for the majority of requests. Should you require a facility not covered in this rate card please contact Global Television with specific detail of your requirements.

Global Television Australia will support accredited media with your broadcasting requirements for the Leaders Summit. If you have any queries, please contact us at [email protected].

BOOKING DEADLINES

Rate card orders will close on Friday 19 September 2014. Orders after this date may be subject to price changes and availability. Our bookings team is available to assist you with any questions relating to this rate card and the request form.

HOST BROADCAST PRODUCTION

The Host Broadcaster will produce live multi-camera coverage of key elements of the G20 summit including airport arrivals, official welcome, and opening remarks, family photo and all press conferences at the IMC. Host Broadcast pool footage will also be available from other events not designated for live coverage.

The Host Broadcast coverage is available live at the IMC and will also be delivered to each broadcaster’s space as well as a Sydney gateway and earth station at no cost to accredited broadcasters. Bookings from this gateway can be made through rate card.

Live beauty shots of Brisbane city scape will be available during the summit as well as a number of video resources recorded throughout the host year.

BROADCAST FACILITIES AT IMC

The broadcast rate card facilities at the IMC include office modules, television studios, editing suites, ENG crews, fully equipped live stand-up positions, dubbing facilities, voice over booth, radio booths, television monitors, and satellite and transmission services.

BROADCAST STANDARD

The broadcast standard for the 2014 G20 summit is High Definition 1080i/50(PAL).

Signals will be distributed within the International Media Centre at the BCEC in HD/SDI or SD/SDI with

4 channels of embedded audio.

The Host Broadcaster will produce, integrate and deliver key elements of the summit to each

broadcast space.

Video conversion equipment as well as PAL-NTSC standard conversion equipment will be available.

Radio/audio only feeds in AES or Analogue audio are available by request.

POWER

Australian power is 240 Volts 50 Cycles.

TAXES

Australian Goods and Sales Tax (GST) are included in all rate card prices quoted in this document. All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD).

To guarantee your booking, a 50 per cent deposit will be required once your order has been processed. The balance will be due by 10 October 2014.

Note: Broadcast and news agency office space will be allocated on a first come basis. We encourage all media organisations to place their rate card orders as soon as possible.

AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA AUTHORITY (ACMA)

The ACMA is the Australian Government body responsible for managing access to the radio frequency spectrum. Included in this rate card pack is a short term radio frequency request form allowing broadcasters and other organisations to request frequencies for use. If you intend to use radio transmitting equipment, please complete this form and lodge your request by email to [email protected]. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

BROADCAST AND NEWS AGENCY SPACE AT THE IMC

Each standard module measures 3 metres by 3 metres and includes:

Temporary walling for 3m x 3m (2.4m high)

Lockable door

Carpet (9m²)

2 x General Power Outlet (GPO) power points and a power board

1 x Trestle table 1.8m

2 x Chairs

2 x Spotlights

Rate: $880 per module

The 3m x 3m areas are modular and can be built up to larger spaces as required.

HOST BROADCASTER SERVER ACCESS

The HB is installing a comprehensive server and content management system (CMS). This is located in the HB area within the IMC.

Access can be given to the server in the form of a PC based browse station. Clients can browse and copy media in a file based environment, or can request clips be played out to their area using one of the video tie lines or to their chosen destination by use of the play out feature of this rate card.

CONNECTIVITY - OTHER AREAS

Requests can be made to the Host Broadcaster to run additional cable(s) between locations within the BCEC. An example may be a broadcasters own area to a stand-up location when using own equipment. This is by request and priced depending on type, quantity of cable and the distance required.

A single camera television studio will be built at the IMC within the BCEC.

TV STUDIO (3 CAMERA)

A multi camera television studio will be built at the IMC within the BCEC. The studio will be furnished with a set for a relaxed interview style layout. The studio is lit for television and has a 3 camera production facility The Studio includes:

Voices over booths are available at the IMC. Booths can be used with the radio studio, TV studio or as off-tube facilities for live and/or edit.
