hot and cold nba teams

The NBA All-Star Games are almost upon us, meaning the midway point of the regular season has already come and gone. Numerous teams had been trading and releasing players in an attempt to gear up for the playoffs. Because of this, some teams have been playing extremely well, while others have fallen into the basement of their respective conferences. Heres a breakdown of whose hot and whose not by conference. Eastern Conference Hot: The Toronto Raptors have been one of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference this week, winning three straight games against high quality opponents. Those wins were over two strong teams out West in the Los Angeles Clippers and the San Antonio Spurs, and a potential Eastern Conference playoff team in the Washington Wizards. The Raptors have also won 9 of their last 11 games, firmly solidifying their spot as the second seed in the East. Cold: The New York Knicks are on pace for their worst season in franchise history, and that is with Carmelo Anthony in the fold. With their All-Star player about to call it quits on the season (due to health) and their second best player in Amare Stoudemire potentially asking for buyout, it has to be rough being a Knicks fan right now. Doesn't help that this Knicks squad ranks dead last in offense across the board. Western Conference Hot: The Dallas Mavericks may be stuck as the fifth seed in the Western Conference, but having to deal with all of the injuries that they have had while winning six of your last eight games is quite a feat. The Mavericks still rank as one of the best offensive teams in the league, ranking third in points per game (106.3) and eighth in assists per game (23.0). This team will be a terror in the playoffs once everyone is healthy. Cold: The Utah Jazz were supposed to have a bounce back season with all of the young talent they have acquired over the last few years, but instead, this franchise is once again looking at finishing the season under the .500 mark and missing the playoffs for the fourth year in a row. The Jazz have only won four of their last six games,

The NBA All-Star Games are almost upon us, meaning the midway point of the regular season has already come and gone. Numerous teams had been trading and releasing players in an at-tempt to gear up for the playoffs. Because of this, some teams have been playing extremely well, while others have fallen into the basement of their respective conferences. Heres a break-down of whose hot and whose not by conference.

Eastern Conference

Hot: The Toronto Raptors have been one of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference this week, winning three straight games against high quality opponents.

Western Conference

Hot: The Dallas Mavericks may be stuck as the fifth seed in the Western Conference, but hav-ing to deal with all of the injuries that they have had while winning six of your last eight games is quite a feat.

The Jazz have only won four of their last six games, and are one of the worst ball-sharing clubs in all the NBA, ranking dead last in assists per game. Not exactly a recipe for success.
