GM ECOTEC 2.0 & 2.2-LITER CAMSHAFTS COMP Cams® announces the release of a new line of performance camshafts for 2.0 &

2.2-liter GM ECOTEC powered applications.The COMP Cams® ECOTEC camshafts pro-vide increased horsepower and all around performance for this increasingly popular sportcompact application, without compromising engine durability.

Using Spintron® developed ECOTEC lobe profiles, the COMP Cams® engineering teamoptimized intake and exhaust flow to deliver dramatic performance improvements.Thiswas accomplished by opening the intake valves faster with aggressive “fast ramp” lobedesigns. The results are improved throttle response and “seat of the pants” performance.

XFI™ HYDRAULIC ROLLER CAMSHAFTS Electronic Fuel Injected engines have very different camshaft requirements from those of carbureted

engines, which require a strong signal at the carb booster to draw the correct fuel mixture into thecombustion chamber. Since that excess flow is not required with EFI engines, camshaft lobe profilescan be manipulated for increased performance.

The new XFI™ camshafts feature wider lobe separation for decreased overlap, yielding a more efficientcombustion process.The XFI™ lobe profiles were designed to work in conjunction with recent valve traintechnology advancements, including COMP’s Super Clean™ Beehive™ valve springs and increased ratio ProMagnum™ rocker arms, thus delivering faster valve openings and closings while maintaining complete valvetrain control. Additionally, the XFI™ camshafts take advantage of the high velocity EFI-style cylinder headintake ports, intake manifolds and combustion chamber designs.The result: dramatic improvement in per-formance and durability for today’s fuel injected engines.

NEW ENDURE-X™ SOLID ROLLER LIFTERSFor years, COMP Cams® Super Roller Lifters have set the standard for

solid roller lifter technology. But today’s engines place a greater demand onlifters, unlike ever before. In keeping with the heightened requirements,COMP Cams® has not only changed the name of this industry standard,but more importantly, enhanced its durability with a series of innovativeupgrades.

Most significant among the upgrades is the addition of EDM OilInjection™ technology, which ensures the bearing assembly receives a con-stant flow of pressurized oil. Unlike other lifters that offer pressurized oil-ing only as an upgrade, EDM Oil Injection™ technology is included standardin every Endure-X™ Solid Roller Lifter.This virtually eliminates needle bear-ing oil starvation, historically a “problem area” for solid roller lifters whenused in low rpm and street applications.To further strengthen the bearingassembly, the Endure-X™ Solid Roller Lifters also include needle rollersthat are precision sorted by size, evenly distributing loads to avoid prema-ture wear and failure.
