How can you RECOVER waste?

Household rubbish in the green-lid bin goes to the Resource Recovery Facility at Neerabup for processing into compost. The food scraps and garden waste are converted into compost which is used to improve the quality of soils for agriculture.

Waste that cannot be reused, recycled or recovered is buried in the ground in landfill.

The Tamala Park landfill is the landfill for your councils. We do extract something useful from landfill – it is called methane gas. This gas is produced during the decomposition of rubbish. Methane gas is extracted from the landfill and is used to generate electricity, enough to provide power for up to 5,500 homes per year.

How can you DISPOSE of waste?
