This exhibition will look at the history of the North Eastern Railway Cottage Homes and Benefit Fund, which was formed in 1919 with the purpose of providing homes for railwaymen incapacitated during World War I, the widows and families of railwaymen killed during the war and for employees compelled to retire through ill health.
