HOW TO REPLACE YOUR BRACKETT AIR FILTER ELEMENT
STEP 1
• When performing any inspection or maintenance on the powerplant, propeller or that requires turning on the master switch, or pulling the propeller through by hand; treat the propeller as if the ignition switch were on. DO NOT stand, nor allow anyone else to stand, within the arc of the propeller as a loose or broken wire or component malfunction could cause the propeller to rotate.
STEP 2
• When you have finished viewing this presentation, use the “CAPS” program found on the home page of www.apex-inc.biz. Select the proper air filter/element for your aircraft.
STEP 3
• Remove the necessary cowling or access panel, if necessary, to gain access to the induction air filter.
STEP 4
• Remove screws attaching filter grill assembly to filter frame and remove foam filter element.
STEP 5
• CAUTION: Be sure drain hole is clean.
• Note: Filter frame assembly does not need to be removed unless damage is found upon inspection. • Inspect filter frame assembly for any loose gasket material, loose hardware that attached the frame to the airbox or broken screen material. Correct any problems found before installing the new element.
STEP 6
• Clean filter frame of any dirt or debris.
• Install correct element using the same hardware that was removed.
STEP 7
• Remove any tools or supplies from the engine compartment.
• Reinstall any cowling or access panels that were removed.
