How to look for books in the library catalogue
Log on to the VLE, and look for the link which says ‘Search the Library Catalogue’
This is the screen you will see. You are automatically logged into your own account in the library. Click on to the Searchstar
button to move on.
This box tells you how
many books you have
out of the library and
whether they are late
or not.
Click on the Searchstar
button to search for books
in the library, and reserve
them. This tells you the
opening times of the
library this week.
This box will tell you about the latest
resources which have been added to the
library this week.
This box tells you
which books have
been the most
popular this week.
Maybe you could
try one out for
yourself!
This is the screen you can use to search the Library catalogue
This shows you a
picture of the cover of
the book you have
highlighted, so you can
find it on the shelves
This box tells you
whether the book is in
the library at the
moment or not
This book gives you a
summary of what the book
is about, to help you decide
whether you want to
borrow it or not
Use this box to search for
exactly what you want to find
Use this to highlight and
choose just some of the things
on the page, so you can print
or export them
Use this to reserve a resource
that is on loan at the moment.
Anything not in the library
shows up with blue or red
writing
Use this to check on your
library account.
This symbol next to a
resource shows that it is
a website. These have
been carefully chosen to
help your research, and
are easier than looking all
through Google.
Highlight the resource
you want to look at and
click on Show, if you
want to access the
website.
