How to Plan the Perfect Pyjama Party As kids get older their birthday parties tend to become more and more complex. The list of dos and don’ts gets longer and people allowed on the guest list gets shorter – and that’s just for the parents! One style of party that is always popular is the sleepover and if you plan it right you can be sure that it will be a time to remember for everyone. To start with decide on numbers because this will set the tone for the event. Look at the room the kids will be sleeping in and work out how many you can sleep comfortably when laying in sleeping bags or on airbeds. Truth is that they will probably spend very little of their time sleeping, but you need to make sure that the space is available just in case a miracle happens. If your child is finding it hard to reduce the list of people that they want to invite, hold a larger gathering during the day so that everyone can attend and then reduce numbers for the actual sleepover. Set activities to keep everyone amused at least for some of the evening and one great to do that is to get the kids involved in cooking their own dinner. Start by asking them to change into their childrens pyjamas, which will save their daytime clothes getting messed up, and then set them tasks to create pizza. The best design could win a prize. Once dinner has had time to go down, set them some energetic tasks to wear them out. If your eardrums can stand it, karaoke is a good choice at this point because it will get the kids up and moving, which should help to use up some of that excess energy. That said a game of football or tag outdoors can works just as well. Just think of ways to spice it up to make sure that all of the kids are involved.

How to Plan the Perfect Pyjama Party

As kids get older their birthday parties tend tobecome more and more complex. The list of dos and don’tsgets longer and people allowed on the guest list gets shorter– and that’s just for the parents! One style of party that isalways popular is the sleepover and if you plan it right youcan be sure that it will be a time to remember for everyone. To start with decide on numbers because this will set thetone for the event. Look at the room the kids will be sleepingin and work out how many you can sleep comfortably whenlaying in sleeping bags or on airbeds. Truth is that they willprobably spend very little of their time sleeping, but you needto make sure that the space is available just in case amiracle happens.

If your child is finding it hard to reduce the list of people thatthey want to invite, hold a larger gathering during the day so that everyone can attend and thenreduce numbers for the actual sleepover.

Set activities to keep everyone amused at least for some of the evening and one great todo that is to get the kids involved in cooking their own dinner. Start by asking them to change intotheir childrens pyjamas, which will save their daytime clothes getting messed up, and then setthem tasks to create pizza. The best design could win a prize.

Once dinner has had time to go down, setthem some energetic tasks to wear them out. If youreardrums can stand it, karaoke is a good choice atthis point because it will get the kids up and moving,which should help to use up some of that excessenergy. That said a game of football or tag outdoorscan works just as well. Just think of ways to spice itup to make sure that all of the kids are involved.

Once you have ensured that they have eaten a decent meal and had time to work off thatenergy, let them loose on the snacks and film part of the evening. Try and assert a little influenceover the film that the kids watch and veto anything scary or violent as this will reduce thechances of anyone in your home getting any sleep at all.

Hard as it may be to enforce, be sure to set a reasonable bedtime. You may allow themto carry on chatting and so on, but make sure that they are at least looking as though they aregetting ready for bed. Make sure that you have updated contact info from the parents of everychild in your care, just in case any get ill or home sick during the night. And finally make ask thatthe parents arrive bright and early to collect the guests in the morning. That way you won’t haveto deal with 8 very tired and grumpy kids for too long!
