Case Study presentations at Norreda Torp 18 -19 May

How to present your case study

At Norreda torp you will be asked to present your case study to the rest of the courseparticipants.

Research in educational theory shows evidence that peer learning (teaching by other students) isone of the most effective learning methods. By doing an oral presentation of your case study you

will deepen your insights in your specific case and continue learning by listening to thepresentations of your fellow students. This way you will get the chance to learn more about otherissues that are of high relevance for the course and the Baltic sea region.

Have this in mind when preparing how to present your case study. The presentation is meant tohelp you and the other students to learn more about sustainable development in the Baltic SeaRegion. Try to make your presentation interesting and challenging. Listening to many long andmonotonous presentations in a row can make it hard to focus.

Here are some suggestions on how to present your case study:

    1. As a poster exhibition (you still have to present it orally)2. As a short and well performed oral presentation

    3. As a role play (where the different sides involved in the political process of yourissue meet in a plenary discussion)

    4. As a play (drama)

    Tips on what to include:

    - Use a map to show the location of your research object- Shortly describe the background and formulation of your question- Summarize your findings and possible solutions

Unfortunately Norreda Torp is quite primitive. It will not be possible to show power point slidesand most likely there wont be an overhead either. Therefore it is even more important to becreative with your presentations and think of alternative ways to inform, inspire or even provokeyour listeners. For those of you who saw Alan AtKissons lecture, know how even singing songssome times can come in handy.

You are free in your choice of method as long as it contributes to the goal of learning more anddeepening our knowledge about sustainable development in the Baltic seas region. You may usethe resources we have at Cemus if you need to make copies, paper for posters, etc.

The presentations will be held on Thursday afternoon and should not be longer than 15 minutesper group. It is very important that you keep to this time limit. After your presentation we willdiscuss the case in question so that 30 minutes are provided for every case study. Make sure thatevery group participant contributes to the presentation.
