Contra Angle Head Charging Station

Installing the contra angle head: Push the contra angle head

securely into the Endomax unit. To remove the contra angle head,

pull gently until it is detached from the handpiece.

Changing the root canal file: Open the latch by pushing the

latch sideways. Insert the root canal instrument

into the head of the contra angle and turn until the instrument engages. Verify the file is all the way in.

Close the latch in a locked position. Verify the latch is secured with the file in place.

Charging station: Turn on the charging station switch located on the backside of

the unit.

Control lamp indicator function:CHARGE: An orange light -charging. A green light –full charged.Charge the battery fully before using the unit for the first time. (At least 5 hours)

Note: A low charged battery will cause low torque output during

reverse rotation.

Do not use handpiece when the low battery indicator light is flashed. Immediately place handpiece onto charging station.

Always return the ENDOMAX handpiece to the charging station when not in use to ensure smooth operation.

Turn the handpiece on/off by pressing the power on/off button.

Selecting the different ENDO functions: To change between different Endo mode functions press and press and

hold hold the mode button until the desired mode is selected.

Press the mode selection button to Reverse rotation anytime

when users want to pull out the file during the

operation. The reverse rotation indicator will

remain lit during reverse rotation.

Pressing the mode selection button again will return the rotation to the forward direction.

The mode button will cycle three different endodontic functions:

Auto-Reverse Forward When the preset torque is reached, the

handpiece will run counterclockwise until the file is free from load and then continue to rotate clockwise.

This will prevent the fracture file inside the canal.

Reciprocating Mode The file will reciprocate in a

back and forth motion at 45 degrees. Special files are required for this function. Check your file manufacturer for more details.

Auto-Reverse Stop When the preset torque is reached, the

handpiece will run counterclockwise until the file is free from load then stops. Press the activation button to continue operation.

Pressing the activation button will activate motor rotation while pressing it again will stop motor rotation.

Pressing and holding the activation button for longer than one second will rotate the motor. Releasing the button after continuously holding down the activation button will stop the motor.

Setting torque limit Press the TQ button to select

from 2 different torque limit value settings. Press the TQ button several times until the desired level of TQ is selected. Pressing the button while the unit is in motion will illuminate the level at which the torque setting is operation at. The handpiece will start to auto-reverse when the preset value is reached.

Adjusting RPM Press the RPM button when the

power is on to select from 5 different RPM settings. Press the RPM button several times until the desired level of RPM is selected. Pressing the switch while the unit is in motion will illuminate the level at which the RPM setting is operating at.

The file preferred RPM will be indicated on the box by its manufacturer. i.e.300rpm

NOTE: Higher torque is equal to stronger resistance. Users can drill

deeper in the root canal with higher torque, but be careful that more resistance makes the file more likely to break.

Start the operation from the lowest Torque i.e.TQ=1 and the lower RPM to prevent the file broken in the canal.

If user feels the resistance when drilling, increase the Torque.

Sterilization To remove the contra angle head

for autoclave, pull gently until it is detached from the handpiece.

After the sterilization, push the contra angle head securely into the ENDOMAX unit.

Changing the Battery Remove the back battery panel

by sliding the panel downwards. Remove old battery and replace with new battery. Replace cover by sliding panel upwards.

A3A3 ENDOMAX is compatible to any brands’ Latch- type endo files. NiTi material file is suggested because of its durability.

Q4Q4 What’s the suggested relative TQ and RPM value setting?

A4A4 There’s no appointed TQ and RPM value; dentists can always follow the file manufacturer’s suggested RPM when using files. For safety reason, remember to start with the lowest TQ.
