Die innenbeheizten EWIKON-Heißkanalsysteme arbeiten mit einer direkten, im Massestrom liegenden Heizung. Abhängig von der Stromstärke erwärmt sich dadurch der Heizleiter im Zentrum des Heißkanals auf seiner gesamten Länge. Esbildet sich um den Heizleiter eine Kunststoffschmelze, die an den Kanalwänden erstarrt und das System somit isoliert und abdichtet. Durch die sehr gute thermische Isolierwirkung der erstarrten Kunststoffschicht heizt sich die Verteilerplatte nurunwesentlich auf, die Temperatur liegt bei 40 bis 60°C über der Werkzeugtemperatur. Deshalb werden innenbeheizte Syste-me von EWIKON als „kalte" Heißkanalsysteme bezeichnet.Das Prinzip der konduktiven Beheizung wird in allen Kompo-nenten des Heißkanalsystems durchgängig eingesetzt. Die Wärmeerzeugung erfolgt kontinuierlich von der Anschlußdüse bis zum Anspritzpunkt.

Die Systeme sind für Drücke bis 2000 bar ausgelegt. Bei höheren Drücken bitte Rücksprache mit EWIKON.

Innenbeheizte Heißkanalsysteme von EWIKON sind mit verschiedenen Betriebsspannungen erhältlich:

The internally heated hotrunner systems from EWIKON work with direct heating located in the melt flow. Depending on the current, the heater rod in the center of the hotrunner heats up continuously over the complete length. Around the hea-ter rod the plastic melts and freezes near at the wall of the channel, thus insulating and sealing the system. As thisfrozen plastic layer has excellent insulating properties,the manifold plate hardly heats up, the temperature staysat around 40 to 60°C above the mould temperature. Therefore, internally heated systems from EWIKON are designated “cold” hotrunner systems.This principle of conductive heating is applied in allcomponents of the hotrunner system. Therefore the heatis generated continuously from the connecting nozzle tothe injection point.

The Hotrunner systems are designed for maximum melt pressure of 2000 bar. If higher melt pressures arerequired please contact EWIKON.

Um unseren Kunden größte Variabilität zu bieten, haben wirdas Heißkanalsystem HPS I modular aufgebaut. Drei Verteiler-systemgrößen und zwei Düsenbaureihen bilden das Gesamt-system. Es werden gerade Verteiler, Horizontalverteiler,45°-Verteiler und Sternverteiler in gesteuerter und geregelter Version angeboten. Sie können als Verteilerplatten und Ver-teilerformplatten aufgebaut werden. Die Düsen werden als Einfach- und Mehrfachdüsen geliefert, die Anspritzung kann vertikal, unter 45° sowie seitlich unter 90° erfolgen. Je nach Auf-gabenstellung können mehrere Teile gleichzeitig oder ein Form-teil mehrfach angespritzt werden, etwa um höchste Qualitäts-anforderungen hinsichtlich Rundlaufgenauigkeit, Planparallelität und Oberflächengüte zu erfüllen. Zusätzlich zu den technischen Vorteilen der Mehrfachdüsen bringt der geringe Steuer- und Re-gelaufwand auch deutlich gesteigerte Wirtschaftlichkeit.Die Kompatibilität der Düsen und Verteilersysteme untereinan-der ermöglicht eine nahezu unbegrenzte Vielfalt der Ausfüh-rungsvarianten und erlaubt den maßgeschneiderten Einsatz dieser Technologie in allen Bereichen des Spritzgießens.

In order to offer our customers utmost variability thehotrunner system HPS I is built up as a modular system. Three manifold system sizes and two nozzle series formthe overall system. Standard components include straightmanifolds, horizontal manifolds, 45° manifolds, manifold plates, manifold mould plates and star manifolds withamperage or thermocouple control. Nozzles are suppliedin single tip or multi-tip design, gating can be vertical aswell as at angles of 45 or 90°. In accordance with the taskseveral parts can be gated at the same time, alternatively multi-gating of a single part can be carried out, for example to fulfil highest quality requirements with respect toconcentricity, parallelism and surface finish. Apart from the technical advantages of multi-tips the reduced number of control zones also saves costs.The compatibility of hot tips and manifold systems ensuresan almost limitless multitude of designs. The high degree of versatility offered by this hotrunner technology allows thetailor-made application in all areas of injection moulding.

Das innenbeheizte 5V-Heißkanalsystem HPS I bietet durch seine Vielzahl von Düsenvarianten die passende Anspritzgeo-metrie für alle denkbaren Einsatzfälle. Als Standardanspritz-ung steht die HPS I Torpedodüse senkrecht auf dem Spritz-gießteil. Ihr Spitzenwinkel beträgt 50 Grad. Eine Variante mit 30 Grad Spitzenwinkel ist besonders geeignet, Fadenzug bei in dieser Hinsicht kritischen Materialien zu verhindern.Die Mehrfachdüsen des HPS I-Systems werden in drei Varianten angeboten: Die Anspritzung kann senkrecht,im Winkel von 45° oder im Winkel von 90° erfolgen.

As standard the HPS Itorpedo nozzle is gating vertically onto the article.Its standard tip angle is 50 degrees. An optional 30 degree version is especially suited to avoid stringing with critical materials prone to this effect.The multi-tip nozzles of the HPS I system are offered in three versions: Gating can be vertical or atan angle of 45 and 90 degrees respectively.

Innenbeheizte Systeme für enge Nestabstände werden von EWIKON mit zwei Betriebsspannungen angeboten. Sie sind in erster Linie für den Einsatz bei hohen Fachzahlen, bei ein-fachen Artikeln und für die Verarbeitung von Standardmateria-lien mit breitem Verarbeitungsfenster konzipiert. Die schlanke Form der Düsen mit Nestabständen von 20 x 20 mm (HPS I, System 2020) bzw. 24 x 20 mm (HPS II, System 2420) er-möglicht einen äußerst kompakten Werkzeugaufbau -Voraussetzung für höchste Wirtschaftlichkeit.

Ein weiteres Plus: Die Zusammenschaltung von bis zu vier Düsen zu einem Regelkreis verringert den Aufwand zur Regelung drastisch. Zusätzlich kann - im Falle des HPS II Systems 2420 - vorhandene 230 V Regeltechnik verwendet werden.

EWIKON offers two variations of internally heated system for close cavity spacing with different operating voltages. They are designed mainly for applications with high cavity numbers, simple components and processing of materials with broad processing window. The very slim design ofthe nozzles allows cavity spacings as little as 20 x 20 mm (HPS I, System 2020) or 24 x 20 mm (HPS II, System 2420). This allows a very compact mould design - prerequisite for high economic efficiency.

A further plus: Cost savings on the control side can berealized by connecting four hot tips per control zone, thus decreasing the number of control zones required. As an additional advantage existing 230 V control technologymay be used when working with HPS II, System 2420.

Die große Flexibilität unserer innenbeheizten Systeme ermög-licht dem Konstrukteur die optimale Auslegung des Heißka-nalwerkzeugs für jede Anforderung. Für die Vorauswahl für einen vorgegebenen Einsatzzweck ist das Schußgewicht das entscheidende Kriterium. Um die Auswahl zu erleichtern, gibt die folgende Tabelle das maximale Schußgewicht des Heiß-kanalsystems bei einer Einspritzzeit von zwei bis drei Sekun-den an. Vorgegeben sind die Systemgröße und die ausgewählte Düse, außerdem wird nach niedrig-, mittel- und hochviskosen Materialien unterschieden.

Die in der Tabelle angegebenen Werte sind für unverstärkte Materialien gültig; sollen verstärkte Materialien (Glas- bzw. Kohlefaser) zum Einsatz kommen, so reduziert sich das Schußgewicht (Tabellenwert) um etwa 10 bis 15 Prozent.

The high flexibility of our internally heated systemsgives the mould designer the opportunity to selectthe ideal layout for the hotrunner system. To selectthe correct system, first is to determine the shotweight.To assist you in your selection, the following table showsthe shot weights of the hotrunner system for an injection time of two to three seconds. System size and selectednozzle are given, the materials are distinguished bytheir viscosity, i.e. low, medium and high.

The data shown in the chart are valid for standard materi-als. If reinforced materials (glass or carbon fibre) are to be used, the shot weight (tabular value) must be reduced by 10 to 15 %.

Anschlußbeispiel der Heißkanaldüsen

A: Nestdüsen (ND) 1.1 + 1.2 +1.3 + 1.4 = 1 Steuerkreis (Ampere) Sie benötigen für die Steuerung von 4 Heißkanaldüsen nur einen Steuerkreis (Zone)

B: Heißkanaldüsen ND 1.1 + 1.2 = 1 Regelkreis (°C) und ND 2.1 + 2.2 = 1 Regelkreise (°C) 1 Regelkreis beinhaltet 1 Heißkanaldüse mit Thermoanschluß und 1 Heißkanaldüse ohne Thermoanschluß

C: Achten Sie bitte darauf, daß die Heißkanaldüsen für einen Regelkreis nicht über 40 mm Abstand haben, da Düse ND 1.1 die Temperatur für Düse ND 1.2 mitregelt.

Sollte ein größerer Abstand als 40 mm nötig sein,so wird jede Düse mit einem Thermofühler ausgestattet (pro Thermofühler 1 Regelkreis).

C: Two hot tips forming one control zone should have a maximum spacing of 40 mm, as hot tip ND 1.1 also controls the temperature of hot tip ND 1.2.

If a spacing exceeding 40 mm should be required, every hot tip is equipped with a thermocouple (one thermocouple per control zone).

Richtwerte zur Auslegung der Anspritz-punktgeometrie ohne Vorkammerbuchse

Bei Einbau ohne Vorkammerbuchse ist es empfeh-lenswert mit kleinstmöglichem Anspritzdurchmesser zu arbeiten.

Bei einem Anspritzdurchmesser unter 1 mm muß die Düsenspitze Maß H auf 0 gesetzt, also 0,5 mm zu-rückgenommen werden.(Distanzring von 0,5 mm unter Düsenkörper legen)Dies gilt nur für die Heißkanaldüsen 97164... und 97224...

Nach Erstbemusterung kann daher eine Nachopti-mierung des Angusses notwendig werden, bedingt durch eine Vielzahl von Parametern wie Fließweg,Wandstärkenverhältnisse, Werkzeugparameter,Zykluszeiten und andere.

1: Niedrigviskos: PS, PE, PP

2: Mittelviskos: ABS, SAN, PA, POM, PBT

3: Hochviskos: PC, PMMA

Hinweis für verstärkte Materialien:

Aus Verschleißgründen sollte man ØD so groß wie möglich wählen.

Im Allgemeinen wählen Sie bitte bei verstärkten Ma-terialien ØD um 0,3 mm größer als in dem Diagramm angegeben.

ØD: Der Anspritzdurchmesser ist von Material und Artikelgewicht abhängig. Vergrößerung des Anspritzwinkels Empfehlung: Zuerst die Bohrungs-Kontur einarbeiten und auf 53 HRC härten. Dann den Anspritzwinkel fertigen.

H: Position der Düsenspitze bei ØD kleiner 1 mm = 0

X: Düsenkörperunterkante bis Artikeloberfläche

Standard values for the design of the gate geometry without gate bush

For installation without gate bush it is recommended to select the smallest possible gate diameter.

For a gate diameter lower than 1 mm the dimension H of the hot tip must become 0, meaning it must be reduced by 0,5 mm. (Put shim of 0,5 mm thickness under hot tip body) This is valid only for the hot tips 97164...and 97224...

After initial tests an optimization process of the gating can become necessary, depending on a number of parameters like flow path, wall thickness ratios, tooling parameters, cycle times and others.

1: Low viscosity: PS, PE, PP

2: Medium viscosity: ABS, SAN, PA, POM, PBT

3: High viscosity: PC, PMMA

Note concerning reinforced materials:

For reasons of wear ØD should be selected as large as possible.

Generally for reinforced materials ØD is selected about 0,3 mm larger than shown in the diagram.

ØD: The gate diameter depends on the material and the article weight. Increasing of gate angle Recommendation: First machine bore contour and harden to 53 HRC. Then finish gate angle.
