To facilitate this arrangement, existing classes have been combined, with staff rotating the teaching and learning supervision. In these trying times, it is essential that we implement strategies to assist with the social distancing recommendations. To assist with this, students are only accessing the playground on a singular class basis, and arrangements have been made to morning and afternoon transport duty. We strongly recommend that all of our transport personnel and families and carers dropping off and picking up students, make use of the hand sanitiser that is on the table at the front of the school. We hope that everyone has a good week, and maintains good hand washing routines! Kind Regards - Tracey

Dear Families and Friends

We hope that everyone is staying positive, calm and healthy in these uncertain

times. As a school, we are here to support all of our school community and

students throughout this period of COVID-19 restrictions.

Learning from Home: A significant percentage of our students have

moved to the Learning from Home Model, and are now working through the

learning packs that were sent home. An integral component of this model is

staying in touch and connected, and teachers will be making contact with

families every few days to check in, offer support with any issues that may

have arisen, and determine if further learning packs are required.

Our school Facebook Page, Skoolbag App and Website will also provide ideas

and materials for home learning. It is hoped that from today, short videos of

staff conducting physical education lessons, reading big books and running a

morning chat session will be uploaded for you to use at home.

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all of the staff who have

not only been continuing with face to face learning, but have been working

extremely hard to develop Learning from home resources from everyone.

See Saw App: Maintaining strong communication links is extremely

important to us. To further assist families and friends to stay in touch, the

school has purchased the See Saw Program. This app provides a platform for

that this program will be operational in the near future, so watch this space!

P&C Easter Raffle & Guessing Competition: Our P&C president has asked me to advise that

the Easter Raffle and Guessing Competition will still be held. Families and friends can make payments

on P.O.P (parent online payment), through our webpage, or drop any sold tickets off at the school. We

will be sending out an SMS, where you can reply with your name and quantity of tickets purchased via

P.O.P. We have had some wonderful prizes donated, and winning one of the Easter hampers would

certainly brighten up anyone’s day! Good luck everyone!! (Please see next page for more details)

Flexible Work Timetable: The Department of Education acknow ledges the outstanding work

that all staff are undertaking in these trying times and have provided Principals with support to offer

all staff a flexible work timetable. Staff will now have the option, on designated days of the week, to

either work from home, or work off class. To facilitate this arrangement, existing classes have been

combined, with staff rotating the teaching and learning supervision. If you have any questions, please

do not hesitate to contact the school.

business. In these trying times, it is essential that we implement strategies to assist with the social

distancing recommendations. To assist with this, students are only accessing the playground on a

Brief Description of your role for 2020

and what you like about it

I am a Support Teacher Transition for high schools of the

Hunter and Upper Hunter Region. The lovely thing about my

role is helping families begin to start thinking of their

children as potential adults and what their future may look

like. I like to support HRCS parents to think about what they

do every day which works for their child and how that can

continue post school.

Interesting Facts Love camping, a good book and a great wine. Like movies or

live music, but prefer talk back radio to music channels.

Became a Grandma far too early, but love the two we have

dearly. Can spend many hours knitting while watching sport

– that must mean I AM ready to be a Grandma!

Gazelle Room During Term 1, Room 9 we have been learning about ‘Light’ in Science. We

have learnt to identify ‘light sources’ and categorise them as ‘natural’ or

‘human made’. We carried out on investigation to see if light

travels in a straight line. We also used our class Bee-Bot and

Smartboard to consolidate our learning and thinking skills. We

have learnt to say and sign some important Science vocabulary.
