I am so excited to welcome you to the inaugural HRK CHOSEN FEW newsletter. 2014 was an incredible year for The Chosen Few as we collectively embarked on a new initiative to highlight the best event professionals in New York City. After successfully running Gourmet Advisory Services for the past 37 years and producing thousands of events, I have had the pleasure (and sometimes the displeasure) of working with an array of talent. It has been a journey thus far and quite an arduous task to whittle down the best of the best in this expansive sector. With that said, I couldn’t be more thrilled to recognize all of you as The Chosen Few: the most skillful, successful, detail oriented, efficient, and brilliant group of professionals. The event industry is fueled by immense competition but sustained by wonderful talent and I couldn’t be more proud to be among the best leaders in floral artistry, photography, catering, invitations, tents, lighting, entertainment, and overall event design. As we lay the groundwork for The Chosen Few to become familiarized as the go-to guide of the event industry, I want to update you on HRK’s Chosen Few most recent work. Thank you for your support and effort. I am confident in our mission. Please reach out with any comments and/or feedback as we continue to embark on this process together.

On December 9, The Chosen Few members gathered at the iconic Rainbow Room to celebrate a successful and prosperous 2014 with visions of further greatness for 2015. The luncheon brought the introduction of our PR firm BrandLink Communications, who represent clients HSN, Drybar, Relais & Châteaux and others. Additional branding consultant Olivia Young was in attendance as well as Altamarea Group’s Anthony Jackson, who manages TCF’s social media & digital platforms. In addition to camaraderie and holiday cheer, guests indulged in the Rainbow Room’s delectable chicken pot pie and chocolate soufflé. Media present at the luncheon included writers from Brides Magazine & the Bridal Guide. Flowers by StoneKelly and music by Total Entertainment rounded out a wonderful afternoon.

press updates

As mentioned at the Rainbow Room Winter Lunch, TCF hired Brandlink Communication to spearhead our PR effort. Most of you have met and/or spoken with Sasa Nikolic and Carol Bell, who are focused on cultivating public awareness and perception of the Chosen Few and its members. By building excitement via press for the entire effort, we hope to sustain our target market (those looking to throw events) and invoke interest from the general public. As The Chosen Few brand becomes more recognizable, it is symbiotic that our members will be more recognizable and therefore more desirable as well. Brandlink is happy to assist all members in getting due coverage in the public sphere. Please contact them directly should you want to pitch an upcoming project. Brandlink has already worked on stories featuring DeJuan Stroud, Abigail Kirsch, and Starlight Orchestra’s involvement in the Central Park Conservancy’s Autumn in Central Park benefit. Their contacts include press focusing on all areas with a heavy concentration on Society and Event features. They are in constant contact with editors from New York Social Diary, New York Post, Brides, The Knot, Martha Stewart Weddings, Town and Country and other publications relevant to event planning and the like. Brandlink is also planning a PR workshop for all members. Details will be announced in the next few weeks.
