The HSE Academy offers a quality high school equivalency test preparation program designed to help you do your best on the HiSET® exam. The HSE certificate is recognized by the State of California as equivalent to a high school diploma.

A teen mother at age 15, Andrea dropped out of high school in the 10th grade.  After having her baby, she started hanging around the wrong crowd. She began to use drugs and alcohol, which led to a life in and out of jail. The last time she was out of prison, Andrea became pregnant for the third time. She learned of a place called Casa Teresa, which houses

homeless expectant mothers, and came to the organization for help.

Andrea was accepted to Casa Teresa and began to put her life

back together. One of her goals was to achieve her high school diploma. She enrolled at the HSE Academy of Anaheim and began attending daily two-hour classes.

Though it had been nearly 15 years since she had been in school, Andrea was committed and began to study. Her instructor helped her with encouragement, motivation and real-world tools needed to succeed and pass the HSE test; and she did! Andrea successfully earned her high school equivalency certificate, which is equal to a high school diploma.

After earning her HSE certificate, Andrea landed a job as an administrative assistant in a medical office. She says her life is now on track!

About ACCEFACC Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization that has been helping the community for over 15 years.

The HSE Academy originally started as a GED program at the Los Angeles Campus of American Career College (ACC) in 2001. The program was created with the hope of making an impact in the lives of individuals in our community, who were not high school graduates, by providing a high quality, no-cost GED preparation course and exam testing.

In 2014, the program was changed to the HSE Academy in response to the California Department of Education’s adoption of two additional high school equivalency exams, including the HiSET®. To benefit the most students possible, the program was and continues to be solely dedicated to student preparation for the HiSET® exam.

Over the years the HSE Academy has grown and is now offered at multiple locations throughout Southern California.

Our Mission StatementTo provide no-cost educational pathways and scholarship support for community members in the Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties who are striving to pursue higher education, enhanced job opportunities, and personal growth.
