Description of the expertise Since 1982 at VTT in Jyväskylä; at the beginning the development of peat production and solar field drying technology of peat. During the last decades his research area has been handling and feeding technology of wood based biomass fuels and fuel mixtures. Also determination and on-line measurement of biofuel and wood chip characteristics like moisture content, has played an important role in his work. Before VTT Timo Järvinen (born 1949) has worked for Vapo (1978-1982) and for the construction corporation Perusyhtymä Oy (YIT) (1975-1978) as a process engineer: plant and hydraulic design, process maintenance.
