Area of Focus:National Recycling Operation
– Diversion of solid waste (mixed paper/USM) to recycling to reduce trash disposal costs and increase recycling revenue
– Utilizes USPS’s unique transportation network to backhaul from smaller post offices to larger hub plants
– We are in year 4 of a 5-year nationwide equipment deployment project
– Estimated NPV: $133.2 Million

Area of Focus:USPS BlueEarth® Federal Recycling Program
– Convenient web-based service provides federal agencies and their employees the ability to securely recycle unwanted electronic devices and toner and ink cartridges at no shipping cost (cost paid by recipient).
– Agencies receive a Recycling Activity Report with data to assist them in meeting Executive Order 13514 requirements.
– Diverts landfill waste to recycling, and increases USPS mail volume and revenue.

Area of Focus:USPS BlueEarth® Secure Destruction
– Allows mailers to have their Return-to-Sender First-Class Mail® intercepted and securely destroyed by the Postal Service™.

– Customers receive electronic reports
