Utility Coordination – Existing UtilitiesIn accordance with Part 4 – Utility Requirements, the Design-Builder is responsible for:

Verifying utility facility locations

Identifying and resolving any conflicts not yet documented

Coordinating with utility owners for utility relocations

Providing stakeout and final layout of utility relocations

Protecting existing utilities

Cost to repair damages to utilities caused by the Design-Builder

Informing the Department of all meetings and correspondence with utility owners

• Coordinate with NYCDEP for final water main design in accordance with Design-Builder’s Design Solution

• Relocate designated water mains within the following areas: • 12” water main at the intersection of Bruckner Boulevard and East 149th Street• 20” water main at the Intersection of Bruckner Boulevard and Longwood Avenue

• Avoid damage and support and protect as necessary for all other facilities within the project area

• Adjust manhole castings at designated locations and as needed

• Relocate Hydrants, valves, and connections at designated locations

• All water main replacements shall follow NYCDEP restraint length requirements

• Coordinate with NYCDEP for final drainage and sewer design in accordance with Design-Builder’s Design Solution

• Relocate existing 74”x75” NYCDEP away from the proposed Ramp BL.

• Avoid damage and support and protect as necessary for all other facilities within the project area

• Adjust manhole castings at designated locations and as needed

• Replace all existing frames and grates within the Boulevard limits of work

• The NYSDOT Contractor shall permanently provide supplemental storm sewer facilities as required for proposed roadway/bridge work and in accordance with the New York State Department of Transportation Highway Design Manual (NYSDOT HDM) Chapter 8 and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC). The alignment of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection facilities shall be coordinated with New York City Department of Environmental Protection and constructed in accordance to all applicable New York City Department of Environmental Protection standards by the NYSDOT Contractor.
