SEQUENCE OF OPERATION
1. SPACE CONTROL LOOP IS MAINTAINED AT A FIXED TEMPERATURE BY MODULATING
THE NORMALLY OPEN HEATING AND COOLING COIL VALVES IN SEQUENCE.
2. THE UNIT FAN RUNS CONTINUOUSLY.
3. THE OUTDOOR AIR DAMPER OPENS ANYTIME THE FAN OPERATES.
4. UNIT SHALL SHUT DOWN AND SEND A PRIORITY ALARM IN THE EVENT THAT WATER
IS DETECTED IN COOLING COIL OVERFLOW.

1. OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER REMAINS CLOSED.
2. THE UNIT FAN SHUTS OFF AND HEATING/COOLING VALVES CLOSE.
3. UNIT SHALL CYCLES ON TO MAINTAIN A MAXIMUM OF 80°F AND A MINIMUM OF 60°F IN THE

SEQUENCE OF OPERATION
1. SUPPLY FAN SHALL RUN FOR NORMAL OPERATION.
2. EXHAUST FANS ARE STARTED WITH THE SUPPLY FANS. ON STARTUP THE OUTDOOR
AIR DAMPER MUST OPEN AND WHEN PROVED OPEN, THE FAN STARTS THRU AND
END SWITCH.
3. ALL SUPPLY AND EXHAUST FANS MUST START SIMULTANEOUSLY. LOSS OF DAMPER
OPENING WILL STOP EITHER SUPPLY OR EXHAUST FANS.
4. ALL H-O-A SWITCHES TO BE IN "AUTO" POSITION FOR ALL NORMAL OPERATION.
5. SUPPLY AND EXHAUST FANS TO BE EQUIPPED WITH CURRENT SENSING RELAYS TO
INDICATE CONDITION OF NO AIR FLOW DUE TO INOPERATIVE MOTOR (CURRENT
SENSORS TO BE FIELD ADJUSTED).
6. THE ENERGY RECOVERY WHEEL WILL HAVE ALL INTEGRAL CONTROLS SUPPLIED,
INSTALLED AND COMMISSIONED BY THE UNIT SUPPLIER. THE SPEED OF THE WHEEL
IS VARIED THRU THE VSC AND BYPASS DAMPERS MODULATED TO MAINTAIN A
DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERATURE.
7. FURNISH SAFETIES AS FOLLOWS TO STOP SUPPLY FAN AND EXHAUST FAN AND CLOSE
OUTDOOR AIR AND EXHAUST DAMPERS WHEN ANY OF THESE OCCUR
A. SMOKE DETECTOR ALARM.
B. SUPPLY AIR STATIC PRESSURE EXCEEDS 2.5 IN. WC.
8. FAN SHUTDOWN CLOSES OUTDOOR AIR AND EXHAUST AIR DAMPERS.
9. SUPPLY AIR VOLUME TO BE VARIED THRU VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE T
10. SUPPLY AIR DISCHARGE TEMPERATURE LEAVING THE AIR HANDLING UNIT IS
MAINTAINED AT 50˚-55˚F(ADJ) BY CONTROLLING THE ENERGY RECOVERY WHEEL
AND BYPASS DAMPERS PREHEAT COIL AND COOLING COIL IN SEQUENCE AS
FOLLOWS:
· AHU SUPPLY AIR DISCHARGE TEMPERATURE IS SET AT 55˚F
· ENERGY RECOVERY WHEEL DISCHARGE TEMPERATURE IS SET AT 52˚F
· HEATING COIL PUMP IS DEENERGIZED ABOVE 45˚F OAT
· HEATING COIL AND COOLING COIL CONTROL LOOPS WORK IN SEQUENCE TO
MAINTAIN AHU DISCHARGE OF
55F. ON INCREASING DISCHARGE TEMPERATURE, THE MODULATING HEATING
COIL CONTROL VALVE SHALL
CLOSE COMPLETE BEFORE GRADUALLY OPENING THE MODULATING COOLING
COIL CONTROL VALVE. ON
DECREASING DISCHARGE TEMPERATURE, THE COOLING COIL CONTROL VALVE
WILL CLOSE COMPLETE BEFORE OPENING THE HEATING COIL CONTROL VALVE.
11. ANYTIME A SUPPLY OR EXHAUST FANS STOPS, ITS ISOLATION DAMPER CLOSED. IN
ORDER TO RESTART THE FAN, EITHER ALL THE SUPPLY OR ALL THE EXHAUST FANS
MUST BE STOPPED AND RESTARTED TOGETHER.
