Contribution Options:

Option 1: Contribute to general fellowship fund via dollar a day program or as one-time donation via CanadaHelps.org. HWB will distribute these funds equally to the current applicants.

Option 2: Sponsor a student for their entire degree or a faculty chair position for a specific period of time.

Reason for Studying Hydrogeology: Groundwater in El Salvador is a very important resource for the country's development and quality of life, however, many of the most important basins are polluted or overexploited. As hydrogeologist, I would like to establish a monitoring network to diagnose the most important aquifers of El Salvador; and, through research, help in making reasonable decisions for resource exploitation, to define aquifer recharge protection areas and establish critical protection areas for vulnerable or contaminated aquifers.

Motivation to study hydrogeology: El Salvador needs technical and scientific support in particularly in the field of hydrogeology. In particular, it is important that we determine the best way to develop. regulate and utilize groundwater. In addition, academic formation is very important for El Salvador and should be part of its development plans.
